I just picked up my first six pack of Alley Kat Full Moon IPA. I was a big fan of their Full Moon Pale Ale. I hope I will be as big of a fan of the IPA version when I try it!

Just had the first bottle of the new IPA. Hmmmm......

The Pale Ale was very good with a nice bitter hoppy finish.

I am finding this IPA very bready and malty. I don't know how fresh it is but the hops are most notable by their absence.

I miss the Pale Ale already.

However, I'm a big supporter of Alley Kat. They make some good beer. I'll try another case in the future.

It can't be hugely old, to my knowledge they only started brewing it a few months ago.

Alley Kat has never really known how to brew an IPA. They should have just stuck to a pale ale without any noticeable aroma hops instead of brewing a maltier IPA with no noticeable aroma hops.

I should start a kickstarter to buy Alley Kat a hopback

I disagree. Their Dragon Series IPAs have been solid.

As far as I have read, they didn't really change the recipe between the PA and the IPA. The PA had always been considered a pretty hoppy pale ale, so I think they just decided to change the style in name without really altering the recipe too much.

A bready and malty IPA is never a good thing :slight_frown:
