In DC, Cairo still has a few six-packs -- $20.99 per, 1 per person.

Total Wine in Mclean had like two cases left as of yesterday around 4:30 PM. Total came to about $23.

Also to my surprise, they had a case of Abyss, so that was a nice bonus.

I believe it was 15.99. I was surprised as I thought it would be more than 20 or thereabouts.

I only saw it as I was walking out; the case was by the door but otherwise, definitely would've missed it. Man, I should've grabbed a bottle of the Hardywood too.

The Hardywood shouldn't be too hard to get, it usually hangs around for a while.

Saw Hopslam at the Giant on Richmond Highway in Alexandria/Fairfax County today for around $19.99. Not a bad deal, for anyone still looking.

Has anyone seen more of this around the area? Still gotta get my co-worker a 6er.

Drank a single bottle I got from Dominion - not a fan. Way too sweet for my liking.

Anyone else had a hopslam (bottle date 1/10) in the last day or so? I drank one last week and it was spot on, top tier beer, had one last night and it seems to have significantly dropped off... hoping that it was just that 1 bottle, I had to drink another and came to the same conclusion... :slight_frown: Has anyone else had this same experience? Does hopslam have an incredibly short shelf life for "top tier taste" at least? of 1 month 2 weeks-ish?

Yes, I agree. Hopslam fell off of a cliff. It was great two weeks ago.

I know I lot of people don't like the place, but if you missed out and really want a bottle, Westover Market still had some as of today for $4.99/each

I'm just chiming in here to say that I'm glad I'm not just crazy when it comes to Westover Market. I really want to like that place, and while I always found them to be expensive, I've also always been willing to cut them some slack because I think the bar is cool and the beer garden can be good on a nice night.

That all came to an end this week after they gouged me for Nugget Nectar. I honestly didn't even realize that Nugget Nectar was now a "whale", so I didn't even bother to check the price when I grabbed a sixer there. $20.31 later, I have vowed to never patronize that place ever again. Seriously, what's the deal with that place? Is the neighborhood just rich?

I stop in to look for some of the harder to find stuff, which I think lingers there due to the price and relatively low profile. I know they charge more than other places, but the place is still in business, which means someone (occasionally myself) is paying those prices. Your case is something of an exception since you didn't see the price until you rang up your purchase, but I think even you'd admit that you are at least partially to blame for that. Point is, yes, their prices are higher, but it takes two to tango.

Didn't mean to get off topic and start ragging on Westover. I know that's been discussed elsewhere.

A lot of the beers aren't even marked. When I used to go there, I'd often get up to the register only to find (for example) that the 4-pack of Breakfast Stout I was buying would cost me $16 plus tax, so I'd have to walk it back and find something else.

Not sure if they still have any but I walked into the Giant on W Broad St in Falls Church Sunday and almost tripped over a couple of cases. I hadn't bought any this year because I couldn't find it at my normal spots a couple weeks back and honestly at $19.99/6 it's not something I absolutely had to hunt down but I couldn't say no when it stared me in the face.
