Remys pappy?

This is getting good!

I havent tried it myself but I have been told by a few people that the body was much improved over last year but it still wasnt amazing for the price of the over-hyped pappy barrel beers.

 

I heard from the guys at El Cerrito that they do not think they're doing anymore next year? Which I hope is not true. I do not intend on starting a bad rumor, but, just wondered if anybody knows if that was an offhand remark or true?....because I missed by getting at Remys Pappy this year by seriously like 10mins....but, otherwise that was my last chance. From what I've seen on the forums trades are only for some pretty hard to find brews, of which makes it hard for newbies to get into.

Maybe some of you guys could help give me some benchmarks of what would be a reasonable trade for a Remys Pappy?

 

I know that it definitely traded 1:1 for DDG if that is any help.

 

I traded batch 1 for ddg on 2 separate occasions. I think batch 2 will move past batch 1 in trade value due to the extra year in the barrel.

why would anybody drink a $35 bottle of wax-sealed beer when you can take countless instagram pictures with it????

 

i traded for 2 last year, both times 1:1 with rarer mead. the most common trade i saw last year was 1:1 with DB Huna but Huna has since exceeded that value. high quality brewery only stuff is what it will take.

 

Novak left Taps. There will be a new higher ABV base next time.

 

I imagine that with it being Kyle Manns back at Taps, it could potentially be something along the lines of Darkstar November-ish, if his track record at Bottle Logic is any indication. Which would be crazy. Though would it just be refilled second run Pappy barrels?

 

Brea Taps has barrels of Trace of Remy. My guess is next years batch.

 

So who wants to trade for some hoarders beer? Nothing stupid either.

 

Is this ever on tap at TAPS?

 

Pretty sure the only time it is on tap is at their 50 dollar+ beer dinner pairings.
