I'm slightly confused about New Holland's Pilgrim's Dole wheatwine. The entry for the regular Pilgrim's Dole says "Ale aged in bourbon barrels" in the info section, and many of the reviews mention bourbon aromas and flavors. But there's also an entry for a Bourbon Barrel Aged Pilgrim's Dole, stating that it's Pilgrim's Dole aged in HH barrels.

Are they both barrel aged? What's the difference between them? Perhaps there's an obvious answer but I can't seem to find it.

They are one in the same, the labeling is more detailed as of the last release. Per an email I recieved from a rep regarding the last release the recipe and process has remained the same but the barrels used had more of a bourbon presence.

Do you mean that newer batches' labeling say something about it being barrel-aged?

(Thanks for the info, by the way.)

I believe the 12oz bottles, last release, are labeled barrel aged.

Ah, ok. The bottle I picked up is a 22oz, no mention of barrels, so it's probably from a previous release. Thanks for the information.
