Saisons, Pale Ales, Sours all feel right for the spring. Kellerbier/Zwickelbier also fit perfectly, IMO

It did not list it? Or was that a typo because you say not and then say gone... as if it was there.
I was friends with the managers of the first good beer bar I ever knew, and they introduced me to the midwest MDV representative who hosted beer appreciation classes somewhere between 1984 and 1989 (don't ask why I remember those years, it's painful). I can remember him with Aass, Celebrator, Kaiserdom, Sam Smith, among others -- and yes, Cold Spring and Schell, where I first learned of the mysterious little brewery making "different" tasting beers (read, full-of-flavor).

Yes, it was there (in MdV's portfolio) - in the undated brochure that is the origin of those pics that obviously fell between the 1985 list and the 2008 list, and thus my comment:

Oh, I read the post -- it was just that lousy little adverb that thru me off. Not sure who was importing it after 1985 or so, but I definitely remember seeing it still on shelves -- just that I think the price started to push it off my radar.

    To that:

I loved this stuff years ago when I was in high school (it actually had a different, blue label). I'd love to try some fresh maibocks but I just don't see them.
