    Did they not other years?

If this is anything like the anniversary party they held last year attendance-wise, it's going to be packed.

2014 at Wrigley, the front was open to public. 2013 at Clybourn, they DID shut down the pub to the public. I don't recall 2012, but I think they had the front open to public. But memory is foggy on that one.

The bar and tables in the area around the bar were open to public in years past. Expect this year to be nut-to-butt around the taps with areas to stand away from all the beer. It sounds like tables and the bar will be open for people to sit and eat as well.

EDIT: By "taps" I mean the beer pouring tables for stout fest; especiallly the BCBS area.

Yeah, this sounds like how the anniversary party was.

The downside is that if you're trying to drink a "whale" you're going to have a long wait.

The upside is that usually there are so many whale-chasers at that sort of event, that a lot of the great, lesser-known/hyped beers have quick lines through all night (or in this case, afternoon).

They usually bring a lot of each beer and give small pours. I'd say the longest wait for beer in prior years was 10 minutes, and the fastest a beer kicked was 90 minutes. Might change this year, but I hope not.

each brewery has to bring 15 gallons. Figure a sixtel of rare stuff from folks, but at 2oz pours, that's 300 samples. But there's probably 50 MBA members (and 20 Brewers) getting 2 samples of the rarest stuff so by the time gen pop gets in you got about 30 minutes.

Anybody hear what PWs will be pouring? Hoping for BA Abduction and Grand Guignol Act Two. The also have a new stout on their site - One Mitten One Glove or something.

I don't understand...early entry for MBA? I don't think so, but I'll be happy if that is the case...

Yes, MBA members usually get to go in an hour early.

I know they did that in 2013 at Clybourn. Was there early entry last year and is that confirmed for this year?

Edit...so that was easy...quick phone call to Goose confirms that MBAs get early entry...sweet!

There has been early entry for MBAs for every event in which MBAs are allowed pre-sale ticket purchases. I doubt the change of venue matters but it would be easy enough for any MBA member to email them to ask about it.

so does that mean the people who used the mba password get in early as well or literally just the members?

The girl on the phone said you would have to show your MBA card along with your DL...highly doubt that is true since the tickets are transferable.

I think I regret saying MBA members get in early.

I thought so too, but I have a feeling GI just got inundated with 30 calls and I feel sorry.

Exactly why I hesitate posting stuff sometimes. There's always people that try to game the system.

The Clyborn pub has a list of all the MBA members by name.

They always have a list of MBA members at the entry for the events. Your name must be on the list to get in early. Doesn't matter if you bought your ticket from an MBA member who bought theirs on the presale because the ticket itself is no different than the regular tickets, just sold early. Must be an actual MBA member.

I'm not an MBA member nor did I use the password. I was just curious as to how long the really good brews are going to be around
