Depending on the year, Old Guardian by Stone is usually one of my favorites. They change up the recipe every year. Some years it's really hoppy, other years it's smoother.

Bigfoot is a staple in my collection, as is Old Ruffian. I also second the idea of trying out some American strong ales as well.

The OP asked for hoppy barleywines, Blithering Idiot is not what I would call hoppy. Good beer, but not hoppy.

It may be a wheatwine, but Three Floyds/Mikkeller Boogoop is worth seeking out by trade

If we can include wheatwines, 09 Nemesis are excellent, as well.

    Here's my list.
Great Divide Old Ruffian- its a very aggressive Barleywine. You'll like this one.
Sierra Nevada Bigfoot- of course it's hoppy, but more balanced.
Real Ale Sisyphus- most underrated, and my favorite (as you can tell by my pic). TX only. It's the best beer I've ever had.
Anchor Old Foghorn- absolutely delicious, very malt forward.
Brooklyn Monster Ale- Very earthy flavor, and has a good hop profile.
Avery Hog Heaven- I can't remember. It was hoppy though.
Barleywines are my favorite, and no two seem to taste anything alike. So try every Barleywine you can get.
