    Resurrecting an oldish thread.

    What is the scene like at OEC around mid-afternoon? Are the waits long to grab a few bottles and possibly a growler fill or two?

    depends - but for the most if no limited release that day you'll be fine. last time I went same time few weekends ago and got a table spot within a few minutes. and the growler line was at worst 10 ppl. usually less.

    I should bookend my starting this with saying I've had four beers from OEC (the oude bruin, a couple other funky tart beers) and they were all unique. As we all do, the hoppy stuff is great and dark beers are awesome, too, but OEC is adding a variety we're not getting anywhere else. I loved it.

    Still have the braggot down in the cellar. Suggested as a dessert beer, so I'll break it out when we have some guests over for a big meal.

    If they are on tap in RI they have signed some sort of distribution agreement with the state, otherwise they couldn't cross the border...that is interesting....where in RI? :slight_smile:

    JuliAns in providence and Noreys in Newport get stuff periodically. I know places in Ny have gotten them too.

    Yes, on draft in NYC on occasions. Their beer was on tap at Holy Grale, in Louisville, KY, when I stopped there over Christmas.

    They are partially (fully?) owned by B. United or something along those lines, correct? Maybe they use those channels to distro out of state? Just a guess.

    OEC is entirely owned by B. United.

    However, B. United is technically an importer, not a distributor.

    Barrel Express is the distributorship under B. United that actually gets the liquids (beer, sake, cider, spirits) to retail/bars.

    B. United and OEC are 2 entirely separate companies. Sure, there is an association between the two, but separate entities. All of our beer does go through the B. United distribution channels though. It is the same distro style as Jolly Pumpkin or Prairie through Shelton Bros, or Evil Twin or Stillwater through 12%.

    What is the pricing on bottles there? I can't find any information. I might have to take a trip down there soon.

    They are usually around $10-16 a bottle for the OEC stuff. The Zymatores can go for a bit more

    they put up a new growler draft only fyi. and last weekend for solaris draft /fills. shame. it's good stuff. glad I snagged a few bottles before they went.
