At the very least you should be entitled to proof that it was destroyed. If they're unable to provide that, you should still have recourse. I'm not a lawyer, I just play one on TV, but there's something not right about that.

Yeah...and there are bottles in there that I didn't have multiples of, which is why I used the 6 shipper, to be EXTRA safe. Luckily my trading partner is being very cool about everything as I'm attempting to fix everything here.

I think I'm going on a mini trading hiatus after I clear up all my outstanding boxes

I don't think I can push it further (nor do I want to) as I'm technically shipping alcohol without a license.

Pipeworks Grand Guignol: New, description makes this sound delicious, hyped up and can't wait to open it.
Pipeworks Imperial End of Days: New, love cinnamon and chilies
Spiteful Brewing: New and first from this brewery, made with Piloncillo sugar, yes!
Cuvee Delphine Truth: New, surprised this is a stout. Looking at the bottle I was thinking a Belgium quad . I've had Black Albert so this would be interesting to compare.
Brewery Vivant Tart side of the Moon: New, great artwork. Hints of cherries without adjuncts, interesting.
    Hopslam: Permawant
Abrasive Ale: New and about time Inget to try this!

That is such a bs policy that alcohol can't be shipped without a license. It's because the government doesn't get their extra taxes and distributors and liquor licenses are so antiquated. I'm sorry for your loss.

Yes, this is how Fed Ex gets away with it. I wouldn't buy the insurance for this very reason, I'm fairly certain that there is something in the policy that prevents them from paying it out, but I'm sure they'll still keep your money.

I'm still confused about illegal (ie against the law) as opposed to just against the rules. I also think that with Fedex, so much depends on the individual you're dealing with -- there have been enough incidents (both recent and way back in the thread) where there was damage, and it seems like sometimes they toss it, sometimes they make you pick it up, sometimes they return it... seems like a lot of this is just how lucky you get. I got one box last summer from Michigan that had one bottle shatter inside it, and when I picked it up off my porch the box smelled like beer and was soaked through -- but everything was delivered.

This is 100% accurate. I've received boxes soaked with beer from broken bottles, delivered, no questions asked. It's totally up to the person you're dealing with... yet another reason that I think they're just drinking my beer.

The first box I sent had two bottles break (of about 20) and delivered fine. That has made me nervous every box since even though nothing has broken since and everything has delivered fine. I always get nervous at the "slosh" as my last two smaller boxes occasionally had a sound (my first two didn't though?) and think they will get curious, but as someone noted in a thread once... a little slosh by yourself at home is way different than "in the elements"

My first international box sloshed HARD (even after adding a box of tic tacs). It was a high-value box, with pre-paid postage (no FedEx account to fall back on) and was going by USPS, which is riskier than FedEx/UPS in the first place. I was so nervous for an entire week until it arrived safe and sound.

Hint #1: The name of my target's state is longer (more letters) than the name of my state
Hint #2: My target posts less frequently than @LehighAce06
Hint #3: I HAVE either shipped or received beer to or from my target's state

Hint #4: My target's username is longer (more letters) than the name of his state

Hint #5: My target must think he is getting beer from Colorado, because he added multiple Casey beers earlier today

Those last two hints should have gotten me down to four possible targets...

By any chance, does anybody here have an extra bottle of Dark Lord, Mexican Cake (I know it's a shelfie, still want to try it) and DB Huna?

Had a trade fall through today :/

I don't know about a leaky box but one time I had a box lost from Fedex, I declared the value when shipped and made a claim and actually got what the box was worth. Now I have no idea if Fedex just drank the beers or actually lost the box, but did get reimbursed.

Lost is different. I think if they confirm the contents, they won't pay you. However, as noted above, it depends on which employee handles your box what the end result will be.

All I know is UPS had a leaky box and I saw nothing again. Fedex I had a leaky box and they shipped me back everything that didn't leak. Why I just use Fedex.

I'm pretty sure I am down to 5 potential senders. 4 of which I have sent boxes to in the past as trades/thanks yous/ and 1 in Round 3 of the BIF. I am wondering if I'm getting a box this round from someone I have sent to previously.

*Also, finally got confirmation that my CircleJerk box has landed. I hope it is not sitting outside too long. Somebody with a special boot may need to go retrieve it.

I've actually had the exact opposite result. Had a box shipped Fed Ex to me destroyed, had another box shipped UPS to me and I received all bottles (minus one) re-packed in a brand new box...the bottles were a little sticky.

Think I'm gonna start my own logistics business and only transport boxes of beer for beer trades and shipments. No questions asked, just give me the boxes and I'll make sure they get delivered.
