Sounds curious. Particularly since the Seasonal is pretty strong for an IPA at 8.1%. After my Arlon haul next month I guess I'll have to check out Hopfenstopfer.

    We'd love to have you!

It's a rare occasion when new releases dont last at least a week out here, and we typically have at least three bottlings available, so anyone disappointed about 'hoarding' probably doesn't have good information. Unless they're talking about folks aging our dry hopped beers for a year in their closet. Then we absolutely see eye to eye!

and as I mentioned before there will be plenty of @deGardebrewing at Brews for New Avenues on September 12 in PDX, and Trevor and Linsey have threatened to actually visit Europe for the past 2 years!

I've been told recently that Braufactum is now going to be the sole distributor of Mikkeller in Germany... grrr. Good to maybe get those beers in front of more people I suppose, bad that I will no longer be able to walk five minutes from my house to get some.

Well, as you probably know Braufactum = Radeberger, so they have access to the old-school distribution already in place, and they can probably piggyback the products on the Radeberger gastronomy contracts, where there is a correct "fit" in regards to the type of bar/restaurant/club/venue. I assume they have a separate sales force that works together with the "normal" sales guys to get it out into market, even the place 5 minutes away should still be able to buy it.

I honestly can't say I care given how utterly overpriced stuff like Mikkeller is. I mean, a lot of 33cl bottles go for the same or higher price than 75cl bottles of most of the good stuff I can get over in Belgium.

Will be checking those out. You may also expect Pax Bräu tasting notes sometime in the near future after I shot them an e-Mail after reading through @boddhitree's reviews.

Is anyone here besides me going to BrauKunstLive this weekend in München? I heard no one else mention it here, so I'm guessing the answer is no. I'll be there on Saturday. Unfortunately, I couldn't talk anyone I know to join me and I'll be going alone.

Also, both just announced this week, there'll be a CRAFT beer, street food & more in FFM

Maybe, but he doesn't seem to think so. Not the end of the world anyway, Mikkeller's delivery prices aren't that bad.

That sounds like a vastly odd invention.

weipi is kind of an old thing. it appeared way before the craft beer boom in germany, i think in 2004 or 2005 or something like that. i found all of them i had very underwhelming. there was one beer by now defunct falter brauerei, hof, which for me, despite not being a weißbierpils, was way better in delivering lager and weißbier qualities. it was called aitermoser and was a cloudy, bottom fermented beer with a lot of weizenmalz. sadly the brewery retired, i kind of liked it.

Has anybody else here tried the two Onkel beers out so far? Apparently this dude is brewing his stuff at Proefbrouwerij in Belgium so doesn't have to deal with the hassle of the Biergesetz. I do like his Saison (Onkel Albert, 5.8%, not sure on the malts - hopped with Hallertau Mittelfrüh and Merkur).
