So lets get to the point here. What if anything happened to or might happen to @cestlavie for his actions?

 

He has a link to where he works in his Profile /information. He calls himself a craft beer specialist. More like a bad trade specialist.

 

I *might* have just posted this on that page....

"So which one of you is Barry (@cestlavie on Beer Advocate)? Apparently you stole some beer from a guy named Ryan under the guise of a "trade", where you got beer from him but never sent what you owed, and have stopped responding to his texts. Since you link this site on your Beer Advocate profile, I assume you work here, Barry. Don't be a thief - take care of what you owe the man. I'm sure your company doesn't want it's name associated with something like this. If you delete this post, I or someone else will re-post it here every day until this issue is resolved."

 

And he is active on the site.... @cestlavie time to come explain yourself

Be and man @cestlavie and voice your side of the story. It seems like you have two choices either get in here and explain yourself and maybe remain on this site or remain in the shadows and be banned. Man up!

 

Not only is @cestlavie a thief, but he's a pretty dumb one at that since his information is easily google-able.

His company's motto is pretty ironic given this situation: "Quality In Everything We Do - Quality Products, Service & People."

A banning would be too light a punishment for this guy. The information he willingly posted on his profile yields a lot of information via those fancy search engines about who he is, who works for/with. You would think someone in the industry wouldn't shame themselves and the people they work for by ripping off a very vocal part of the beer community.

 

At this point if you have truly gotten his attention, I would demand the $280 you are out, I wouldn't want the beer from him.

 

Their motto is : We are a team of people excited to bring great beer to LI.

Should be : a team of one excited about taking beer from the good beer advocates of Washington.

 

Tell him to man up and show his face on this thread also.

 

Hey guys- don't want to get flamed on here, but I am working it out with Ryan right now.

 

As for my side of the story- I've had a pretty good track record of trading on here for the past couple of years. Long story short... and there is no excuse for it at all.... I was trying to put together a super box for Ryan because he hooked me up on his end of the trade. It was pretty open ended. I moved, and in moving, it got lost in my priorities. I know that there is no excuse for this. I have talked to Ryan, and I am compensating him for the beer that was sent to me. FWIW, it has only happened once, and I want to make it right. I am not a bad guy, I just got in over my head. I want to make it up to him, and I am. I hope that I am not judged upon one trade that I totally screwed the pooch on.
As you can see though, it has been some time since I have traded, as priorities had changed for me in terms of trading... but that being said, I should have taken care of this the right way from the beginning. I truly apologize to the whole trading community, and to specifically to Ryan.

 

It is really too bad that you just couldn't have taken care of this a long time ago instead. Ryan was way too generous. Glad he is finally (hopefully) going to be whole and done with this, he is a great BA.

 

You are all right. I fucked up. No doubt. It has been resolved now though, @Kurmaraja would attest to.
