I wouldn't say it's a terrible thing to skip Brooklyn, as you would avoid the H-word hordes. Plenty of great craft options in manhattan.

Burger joint? I would say DuMont Burger. Right across the street from Lucky Dog beer bar and around the corner from Breukelen Bier Merchants. Also just a short walk to Spuyten Duyvil

Was it behind the counter or something because I've never seen NEBCO stuff there. It's possible, the guy has a great selection but I would have got SeaHag if I saw it there. From the New England forum it's seems hard to find on the shelves up there.

How did I generalize? - craft options in manhattan?

Just saying it could be an overbearing scene for some and there are options.

You could say Manhattan is full of preppie/frat boy d-bags. However that would also be unfair. D-bags are universal. But I wouldn't discourage anyone from going to Brooklyn, or Manhattan (or any other borough) just for fear of running into d-bags of some type.

well of course - you forgot to mention tourists too but there are almost equal amounts in Brooklyn nowadays.
It seems to me that most true craft bars don't appeal to the preppie/frat d-bags.
This is coming from a former long time Williamsburg resident who finds the current adult playground aspect of the place alittle too much.

Maybe when I was at Blind Tiger a couple of Fridays ago, I just got unlucky then.

But either way, whatever someone may or may not feel about Williamsburg specifically, there are plenty of other neighborhoods in Brooklyn that have a different feel and still have great craft options
