Looking to brew a Trois IPA.
The hop schedule I have right now....

    1oz Pacific Jade @60
    .5oz Nelson at 0
1oz each of Galaxy, Motueka and Riwaka at 0
Same as above with a half hour hop stand @ 185F
Dry hop for 5 days with the same mix.

    Thoughts?

Sounds like an awesome beer. What is you malt bill?

I've never used Pacific Jade but I've been using Pacifica a lot recently and love the juicy orange aroma and flavor, so something worth considering. Also, where are you getting the Riwaka from? I was recently calling around to my local HB shops to order some and no one can find any at the moment. The beer sounds great!

Sounds good! Recently bottled my first 644 DIPA made with Galaxy, Mosaic and Amarillo...it's absolutely amazing!

Sounds great, I too was looking to get some Riwaka when I did an all NZ hopped IPA a few weeks ago but couldn't find it. Ended up just going with Pacific Jade for bittering and Nelson, Motueka for a big hopstand.

I love Pac Jade, but its got a peppery flavor and a funky weird dankness that some people find off putting, one person even described it as meaty, which I thought was weird.

Pacifica is one of my favorite hops because of its orange rind flavor and some mild NZ funk.

I recall they were planning on discontinuing Riwaka permanently due to low crop yield.

I got from Farmhouse a year ago and need to use it up. Have you used Pacifica to bitter with?

No I haven't, I've only used it late in the boil or dry hop.

Lots of good info here. I have a half pound of Rakau that Im looking to use in a smash-ish (very simple grain bill of Vienna, 2 row and C20) type IPA using only NZ/AU hops .

Any recommendation for a good bittering addition? I had Pacifica, Southern Cross or Green Bullet in mind.

In my experience it doesn't matter if u use a NZ hop for bittering. Use warrior or CTZ. Although, maybe a First Wort Hop may be in order here! May add some to the aroma is you FWH with NZ hop. I'll recommend galaxy for that. High AA ...use maybe a half oz FWH for a five gallon batch maybe a touch less.

I love CTZ for bittering and use it exclusively for my hoppy beers. Nice firm bitterness that dissipates quickly.
