I first tried their ipa after it first came out a couple of years ago. I thought it was way to bitter. But I think it might of been an old sixer Sittin on the shelf. I didn't buy anything else from SA till Double came out and I thought that was very good. Had a regular ipa in 12oz bottle a month ago and it tasted better than last taste. I've been looking for those in cans. Only thing I can find is the variety pack and it has the DIPA cans in it. So I may pull the plug on it. I haven't tried their Brown. But that Mosaic IPA looks good! Haven't been to the tasting room yet. Not quite the way back to OC from my Alpine visits.

Ah, hadn't heard about Mosaic. Surprised it wasn't on draft at the tasting room when I was there this past Saturday... definitely a bummer. Selection was sort of pedestrian otherwise.

The DIPA when fresh is fantastic, just got a bottle at WF last week that was super fresh, unfortunately the DIPA for some reason has been hard to find here in the OC/LA markets.

    Cheers

Think I read it'll get released to "select retailers". If it follows in the footsteps of its already-canned counterpart DIPA, it ought to be really friggin' good.

Happened to snag the pale ale and white ale this weekend and cracked open the pale tonight. It'd been a while since I had one, but it was just as good as I remember, if not better. It sort of made me think, "See, this is what all those session IPAs should taste like." Great opening nose, all bright citrus, lightly sweet malt, and just hint of pine. Palate equally bright, a little more malt, some orangey notes, a really well weighted bracing bitterness to clean things up at the end. Haven't ever had the White Ale, as it's not usually a style I'm overly into, but I'll be interested to see what they do with it. IIRC, it won gold at GABF this year, so it's got me intrigued.

I definitely had a bias against them b/c of their marketing angle, but I love these guys, they are in my opinion one of the top breweries in SD.

Yup, yup -- for my money, the pale/IPA/DIPA combo is as strong a regularly distributed combo as anything SD is producing these days. Yiga and Kim Lutz know what the heck they're doing up there.

Coffee Brown is the best Coffee beer produced in So Cal, IMO.

Are these guys bottle dating anywhere either on the bottle, can, or six pack box?

Pretty sure I saw a Julian-style date sticker on the box, but nothing on the cans themselves, at least far as I can tell. Would love it if they'd do that, though.

The DIPA is solid, hope Mosaic makes it up north.

Was wondering this myself, wanted to pick up a DIPA bomber but I didn't see any kind of dating. They should get on that.

I picked up all thier beers when they first came out and enjoyed them all quite a bit. I haven't revisited any of them since because I never saw any dates, I'll check for the stickers on the boxes.

The double ipa bottles are at hi times. Much better than the canned ones.

Last fall I had some cans that had a date printed plainly somehow---on the bottom, I think---but I haven't come across any cans in a while. I was looking at a few bottles a few days ago and noticed some codes etched on the side below the label, but I couldn't puzzle out what it meant. It might have been Julian dating with extra stuff before/after. Maybe you guys can figure it out---I hate it when brewers decide package dates should be an exercise in cryptography.

Was gonna grab a six pack box today, found the sticker and it said "15 28"
That didnt help me out, I passed.

Just a guess, but I assume that means the 28th day of 2015 (sort of a modified Julian dating) -- so, very late January. I saw perhaps the same date of the pale ale and a slightly newer number (something like 15 51. There may have been a zero in front of the 51 or something. Can't recall.) for the White Ale, so I grabbed both recently. I've been drinking a lot of German stuff lately, so I've been able to refine me bottle code reading skills -- those guys are all over the place with the Julian formatting!

I did email Saint Archer to see if they could provide any more info -- waiting to hear back.
