Damn, either my taste buds aren't as well tuned as some of you guys but I realized I still had a few of my nugget nectar cans (that are now 2 months old... def not #lehighfresh) and it's still holding up pretty well. Nowhere NEAR what it was incredibly fresh, but I was worried about having these, and just cracked one open and it's not yet a drain pour haha

Not good enough to include in my locals box anymore though, sorry.

 

My bf is driving me nuts and I am 5 away from hitting 1k on untappd! Beer all night

Hasn't had one yet! But last night had a ton in between good beers.

 

I think a lot of that 'falling off' stuff is hype and hoopla. I justness one today and it was still really good.

I think you're 100% right that it does fall off, compared to really fresh it falls off a lot, but overall Nugget Nectar holds up remarkably well over time. Due to a couple fallen through/delayed trades I still have a fair amount myself that I'm not even worried about.

It has to do with the hops. Older strains of hops have been more thoroughly researched and bred for consistency and longevity; whereas newer strains, more interesting and flavorful though they may be, fall off much faster and to worse effect. This is why citra hops (Zombie Dust anyone?) fall off quickly, while nugget has staying power.

Just got home from Grand Rapids. I was there all day. My head sorta hurts and j just drank enough water to drown a small equine. Ugh. CBS is soooo good though.
