Speaking of this beer, the new Duckworths Uptown has it on draft.

I may have to go have a draft for science

I reached out to them and they responded rather quickly. I was satisfied with their response and attempts to make a bad situation right.

They quickly responded to me when I contacted them too, but didn't do anything besides thank me for the info and say they would pass it along to the folks in charge. Did they mention anything additional to you?

I popped a bottle last night and it was fine. I do have 3 or 4 more but we'll see what happens.

i am drinking my last one now. it tastes ok, not nearly as good as the first two, but better than my last infected bottle. i can tell this is one is also infected , but not as bad so its going in my belly.

I'm drinking one now that was cellared and don't taste an infection. I definitely get the red wine barrel and stout.

    Having one right now...

    Nose...sharp metallic and booze.
Taste...Red wine dominates. Some oaky notes.

It's not terrible... But this can't be what they were going for. The nose is unappealing.

The other infected duck rabbit I've had, I think it was hoppy bunny was super metallic too, but in taste. It was a straight drain pour. This isn't at this time. I'll finish this bottle. To be fair, I've had much worse "sours".

Had mine last night, stored cold since purchase and it was great (no sign of any infection).

What response are people getting from DR? I haven't heard a peep from them since emailing through their site. Are they actually trying to make this right? Doesn't look like it from where I'm sitting.

I messaged them via Facebook. Got a response apologizing, and offering to have me return the beer to their brewery (not an option) or to send me some schwag. Not to be a jerk about it, but you've just sold me infected beer...why would I want to rep your brand publicly?

Anyways, I replied that I'm far away and cannot return the beer to the brewery (and given how they're near essentially nothing, they have to know this is a nonstarter), and asked if it might make more sense to return the beer to the retailer. Crickets since then. As people have said here before, it really is better to be unresponsive than to respond once, then vanish. Very frustrating.

The day you feel the need to apologize for recommending/praising a beer simply because of an infection that causes delayed deterioration is a sad day indeed.

Interesting. I saw it when it first came out, it was not all that appealing to me because honestly Duck Rabbit is not one of my go to breweries from NC and it was an odd style (I really never could figure out how to classify it?), but since it was a special release and they were part of that whole OldeRabbitsFoote deal I thought why not try at least one bottle, so I bought one. I have not tried it but I had no idea so many people were discussing issues of infection. I am glad I only bought the one now! I considered getting a full sixer that day! Beer gods were looking out for me!

I've been super stoked about this guy, got one from a good friend, damn infected. Sounds like the good bottles are stellar tho!

About to drink one, as I'm out of beer and have resorted to raiding the cellar for the 2nd set of panic. Will report back on level of infection!

I'm gonna drink the whole thing either way, that much is certain.

Most definitely infected, but not 100% unpleasant. Definitely not the same beer as it was previously. And it had a really weird type of carbonation/head that was like when you pour a soda into a glass. Really small fizzy bubbles that then dissipated completely.

Given your post, it looks like you drink this at or around 1AM. So, if you had it right now, would you have the same opinion
