Oddly enough I would have to say the Saison is the probably the closest example. I know that makes no sense since they're different beers/styles but I guess it's that Colorado terrior (yeah I said it) similarity that's in both beers? What I mean is I just don't think there's a beer you can point to and say "it tastes exactly like that" but what I can say is "it tastes just like a Casey beer".

As far as tasting notes that I can half remember I would say the oak and sourness are there but definitely in perfect balance, similar of a nice gueuze. Mild to Moderate funk and I remember saying it has a nice richness like a very sharp white cheddar. Not sure I would say it tastes exactly like a gueuze but it has many fine characters of one. Tastes be subjective dough, right?

I can concur that they are phenomenal beers and yeah you should spend your whole paycheck, children's college fund and retirement fund on them.

The best description I could come up with was L'Brett d'Or batch 1. Really good. I think I mentioned that.

Hey Folks, I'm hoping you can help an out of towner. I'm going to be in the area this weekend and I was just wondering what the Casey releases are like? I'm staying in Denver, so it's a bit of a haul to get there, I just want to make sure it's worth the drive. Is there typically a long line? What would be a reasonable time to get there? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've been to a couple of the releases, and I could describe them to you, but I wouldn't expect Saturday to be a typical release. Just posted to the event:

Due to the large amount of you who say you're coming (we've never had more than 80 RSVP, there are 95 now), we've decided to slightly lower some of the bottle limits. We wanted to do this now before everyone made their way up here. As always, we will not lower these the day of the event even if way more people show up, and we can always increase them based on turn out. Here's what's changed: Oak Theory 3 bottles per person (was 4) and Advanced Oak Theory 2 bottles per person (was 3). Please look at the updated event details.

Be line line by 9 if you don't want to stress about getting full limits

With nice weather this weekend and a ton of hype for this release I think showing up early would be wise...

It was definitely the busiest release I have seen to date. I showed up at about 9:30am and there were ~60-70 people in line already. Peach Fruit Stand sold out well before I made my way to the front, but I was able to get everything else. I believe the Oak Theory and Cherry bottles sold out as well before the line was completely done and I know most bottles for on-site consumption sold out along with glassware. I had pours of the Peach Fruit Stand along with Dry-Hopped and Advanced Oak Theory. Needless to say they were all amazing.

By the time we got there at 3 everything was sold except East Bank and they had Cherry, Oak Theory, Advanced Oak Theory and East Bank available for pours...solid line-up!

Nice! Troy must have brought more bottles up front for on-site consumption. I left at around 1:30pm and when I was heading out things were dying down (or so it appeared).

I tip my hat to Troy probably bottling as much beer as he possibly could in anticipation of an insane turnout, which it was. It seemed like if you were there by 11 you were able to get everything but the Peach. That's a well run release in my book.

...and my god are the beers incredible!

Had some East Bank this weekend, friend brought over a bottle. Had never heard of this brewery before, and it was outstanding. A welcome addition to Colorado.

When there are 10 new breweries opening up every week, it's difficult to keep up.

    From Casey's facebook

    Post release notes:

Wow, thank you to everyone who came out to this release, it was our biggest by far. We had twice the amount of beer to sell at this release than ever before, and it went quick. We’re very sorry some of you couldn’t get everything you wanted. Thanks for all your patience with the crowd. We had more beer than normal ready for the bar, but it went quick and I (Troy) didn’t tell Emily we had a few more cases in the back that I saved for next month’s release, so we got them a bit late. Same with glassware, we have plenty of the barrel head logo left and will get more of the Fruit Stand soon. We did not expect those to go as fast as they did.

What we’re going to do different for the April release:

Lower limits so more people have access to all the beers released
Reserve more beer for the bar so it lasts all day
Get two more hand trucks to make loading out cases easier

Again, thank you for your patience and business. We couldn’t do this without your support.

    Troy and Emily
