This will be the official thread for the MM Takeover Pool for everyone to do a little trash talking, posts hauls and select your senders (for the fortunate winners)

    Good luck

Sent a message to everyone posting the links...we are officially started!

If anyone sees a problem, let me know. You should each have one team on either side of the bracket.

One of you (at least) will be out of this game before dinner 7pm EST Thursday (it's usually me :slight_frown: )

    Mike,

I know you explained it somewhere already but I can't seem to find the post. How does the whole team takeover thing work? Just want to make sure I get it moving forward.

    Thanks!

You have two teams, one on each side of the brackets. Your teams both play their games against their initial opponent, and the betting point spread is taken into account. If your team is an underdog with the point spread, and they win their game straight up you keep that team and advance on to the next round. If your team is favored to win, they must not only win their game but cover the point spread for you to keep your team and advance. If your team is favored to win, wins the game, but does NOT cover the point spread you lose ownership of that team and your opponent for that game, who owned the underdog team, takes ownership of your team to replace their team and advances on, now owning your team.

(If you have the team that is favored to win, and wins by exactly covering the point spread, "a push", then the tie goes to the favored team and you advance on keeping that team.)

    Example from above.....

Arizona is favored to beat Texas Southern by 23 points.......

If your team is Arizona, they must win by 23 points or more or you lose them as one of your teams. If they cover 23 points you keep them and advance to next round.

If your team is Texas Southern, and they somehow manage to beat Arizona outright in the game, you keep them as a team and advance with them to next round. If they lose to Arizona, but by less than 23, you take ownership of Arizona as your team and advance to the next round with Arizona.

Purdue covers the spread against Kentucky, then Kentucky cruises. My only hope.
