When you get it, it's pretty flat but you can pack a ton in there. This year I'm going to avoid real ice. While I bent over to tie my shoes late in the day I spilled cold water all over myself because I didn't zip all the way.

Good to hear, although that is kind of steep, even if they are including food and a glass with tote bag. Upon doing some research, I see tickets were required last year and it was $50, which included any guest taps.

Basically, I could see if they said GA was like 20 and you got four tokens for an item on draft. But to pay just to get the opportunity strikes me as a little overly greedy.

 

I saw people loading cases onto their own folding dollys in the warehouse, but I would email to make sure.

 

I didn't score tix so I'm going to SlapShot Brewing co for their BBQ and Bottle share. They are pouring their beer along with Mikerphone's beer all day. They are gonna have guest taps too. They are roasting a pig and having a bags tourney.
The best part is it's free! No tix! just a good old fashion bottle share and bbq! The wife is excited she doesn't have to stand in line for hours :-)

IIRC the revenue from GA tickets last year went to charity. It also provides some sense to the madness. When I'm thinking of "good beer festivals" and "brewers doing a good job", Huna Day 2014 is not even a consideration based on how terribly it ended up unraveling.

Wait... only those 4 bands? Hasn't there traditionally been 6 or so? I'm into the lineup, but you can't beat last year's Pig Destroyer/High on Fire combo. For the increase in price, I was hoping maybe they booked Sleep.

 

Oh man. Very pumped for Obituary. I'll have to break out my cropped shirts.

High on Fire doesn't have anything scheduled that day. Considering they've played the last 3 years, it wouldn't surprise me if they showed up on the schedule.

If High on Fire plays again, it will make it the fifth state I've seen them in.

 

High on Fire and Pig Destroyer was 2013. Last year was Eyehategod.

I missed them as well, but I recall seeing pictures where he was actually wearing a shirt on stage. It was that cold.
