They call and leave a message saying if they will accept a claim, and the letter they send says it too

I kinda know my local ups guy. But when they ask I always say glassware.

Once the box was pretty slushy and they looked at me funny when I said glassware and I said snow globes in fact. I see them on eBay. Vintage ones. Pretty expensive.

See... I'm a terrible liar, but I'm REALLY good at coming off as being in a hurry, so I feel like I'd have to use that to my advantage if it ever came to it. That said, my fedex drop off spot pretty much takes the box and I leave before anything else even happens, though I have a much smaller sample size (what... 6 boxes now including the one I'm shipping tomorrow?), so we'll see in the long run...

USPS deliveries my Belgium in a box deliveries and they go through customs and have the contents on the shipping logs.

Seb, you better not try to orchestrate anything crazy! It will only come back to haunt you!

I prefer DVRing it then watching it with the option to fast forward. Last week's was awesome getting the background story on Mike.

Well what do ya know, that's the same thing I told the Staples lady tonight about my little 39lb box I just sent to PA. And it's not a circle box!

No DVR here so either watch it live or pirate it.... and it's worth the former for me haha

Thanks for the plug for the big 50 beers for 50 years birthday party. For those who are interested in the locals or stouts BIF. The party will be in Ft Lauderdale the weekend of July 30th. We will have special beer from Wild Oak and 3 Sons. Only regular beer from Funky Buddha, Due South and J Wakefield. Should be a good time. PM if interested. Cheers

Oh by the way, this party will not suck.

If i am asked what I ship, I claim it is KY Ginger ale for a homesick friend. It never goes farther than that. I like the marinade thing as well

Do they ever ask why your friend needs 40lbs of it?

On any given day I might be shipping Lake Michigan water samples to a science teacher buddy in X-state for some classroom experiments or a canning enthusiast sending specialty pickling vinegars to people from my etsy site. I'll have to keep marinades in the repertoire now, too.

When @HoppySeb obliterated my porch the other day, though, and his shipper's address was a tech company, I hit a few minor snafus with redirecting the package. I had to go to a small hub to pick up the box, so I had a story all worked up--I was working on a tech project with a crazy deadline. It was keeping me up all hours, so my buddy, who sent me some parts for the project, had probably slipped some energy drinks into the box because he thought it was hilarious--asshole ()...

I didn't get to use the story though. Just walked right out of the hub with a box full of "energy drinks"...:grinning:

I dropped of my anti-circle jerky thingy box tonight and for the first time they asked me about the contents in the box. It caught me a little off guard, but thanks to previous discussions on this site I was somewhat prepared for it. My response was that it was Mexican sodas that are made with real sugar. I was shipping it to my friend up North that can only get sodas made with fake sugar and he loves the sodas we can get down here. The guy just smiled and commented that he loved real sugar sodas too. Seemed to go over good and I was on my way.
