He probably wouldn't have, as we had GA last year and had 10x more fun outside in the waiting line than inside. The only reason we're buying DL this year is to trade it, because it isn't very good (IMO). A big part of the event for us is the ease of buying large quantities of to go beer.

Trades well enough. I'm not a whalezbro either so I was never implying that I was trying to trade it for anything special.

I drove my FR-S last year from VA to DLD. We managed to get 4 cases in the trunk, plus a bunch of other bottles and all of our travel shit. Was the perfect road trip car lol

I would not have. I would've sat outside, tailgated and bottle shared, as that's the most fun IMO. Essentially, I get tickets for to-go cases, and Dark Lord is merely a bonus (if you get it). DL is a mediocre RIS in my opinion. It's great tradebait, that's just about all I'll do with it. I know that's not everyone's intent when going to DLD, but it's mine, and if this (rumor) is indeed true I feel cheated out of $100 in tickets to enter a gate I otherwise don't need to enter.
And I'm aware it doesn't say anything on the website about to-go beers, besides the DL, but if you paid $100 just to get into a restaurant only to be told the usual options, the options that have always been there, aren't available anymore and that the menu is subject to change at their discretion, you might feel like you were cheated out of your entry fee, because the entrees they offer are what you were hungry for. Even though they have no legal or, arguably, moral obligations to inform their patrons doesn't mean they shouldn't.

The point I was trying to make (poorly) is that anyone who purchased a DLD ticket solely based on the assumption there will be To Go sales on DLD probably shouldn't have purchased a DLD ticket in the first place. And to those who still would have purchased a DLD ticket and are just frustrated (again this is still only a rumor at this point), FFF have never 'promised' To Go sales availability on their website. Again if the speculation becomes confirmed at some point , we do not know the legalities, policies or anything else which would cause the (possible) change. I don't think FFF would voluntarily choose to forgo the opportunity to make additional $$$ on To Go sales unless there was some reason for them not do so. This could still be quite fluid and there is still over a month until DLD anyway. If it turns out to be true, plenty of opportunity to pick something up on Friday and/or Sunday.

That is not the SOLE reason I go; to buy cases. But it is a VERY big reason I go. And my very, very simple point is that they could have informed us of this (possible) change before people like myself, who have jobs and the like, who can't just magically appear in the to-go line Friday and who can't stick around Sunday because responsibilities, wasted our money. Now, I'm not a total halfwit, I know there's nothing to confirm this and it's as likely bs as it is truth. And I know that FFF has zero responsibility to tell us about any of their plans. But just because they don't have an obligation to inform us of anything doesn't mean they should. And I'm hoping that because they haven't said anything means that this is more on the bs side.

This thread is a hilarious soap opera of rumors. Thank you for making my day

It wouldn't be a real DLD thread if it wasn't a soap opera of rumors.

Yeah, I can't help but check back in every few hours to see what the latest happenings are. I don't understand why people complain about threads like this; sure there's plenty of negativity, but it's mostly in an amusing way, and it's a good change of pace from the "who the hell likes this shitty beer? my local one is better" threads.

I'm confused. Dont they sell to go cases literally every day of the year they're open? Not sure why all the huff over this rumor.

People travel for DLD, people that don't have access to it everyday. If I got tickets this year and they announced that I would be pissed. That was part of the allure of going last year, buying cases of ZD and such.

I guess the positive for me is no cases being sold means I'll get to save some bucks that I would have otherwise spent foolishly. So I've got that going for me I s'pose..

Yeah but $44 in relation to transportation costs (driving/flying from the east coast + hotel). Is it really that significant? If the rumors should become true, I'll reimburse your $44 for the rights to purchase your DL bottles at cost + your scratch off ticket, deal?

Cases will absolutely be sold. Don't believe everything you read on the Internet.

Good point about traveling. I'm also hoping to get some dust, but I guess I see that as more a value add than the main reason to buy tickets.

I don't think anyone thinks this isn't more than a rumor. I can at least speak for myself when I say, that IF the rumor is true, then I will personally feel ripped off. Like going to an amusement park and finding out your favorite attraction, the whole reason you went, is down with no signs of warning out front before you bought the ticket. I personally don't believe it's true, I won't until I read it on a FFF official website or in an official statement, but IF it turns out to be the case then I flushed money down the toilet. Essentially, I'd feel like I paid money for an event and got tickets to a completely different one.
