Last month while traveling in a neighbouring province, I happened to come across one of my favourite Winter Warmers. Since I hadn't seen it in my local area in a few years, I decided to pick up 6 bottles (they are 500 mL) to take home with me. I had not planned on cellaring them (I have extremely limited cellaring knowledge/experience) but it is now the middle of March, Spring is right around the corner, and I still have 4 of the 6 bottles left :stuck_out_tongue:

I have drank Winter Warmers in the Summer months before but I much prefer them when the weather is cold and miserable. That being said, I was wondering if anybody has any knowledge/experience in cellaring Winter Warmers. I'm sure that they will hold up fine until at least next Winter but I would like hear from people who know what they are talking about.

    Thanks, Guys and Gals!

a lot of it depends on the percentage. generally the higher the better! Should last for a while, but depending on the kind, the flavours may definitely change over time

The beer is 7.0% ABV so I don't think it will have too much trouble lasting until next winter but you can never be sure.

If you're really concerned, stick it in the coldest section of the fridge to slow down reactions. Otherwise, yeah, it'll probably be fine, if a little muted.

I'm not overly concerned about the beer but I would like to see how it holds up to cellaring. Thanks for your help!

I will for sure! Nothing like an experiment with something as great as beer :sunglasses:

It might help if you told us the name/brewery, everyone's idea of a WW is different from others. Some are just spiced brown ales, other breweries brew a traditional old ale and call it a WW.
