Dark Lord Day (DLD) 2015

Look, guys, I sent an email to [email protected] about hand carts and to go cases, and they were the ones that said they were not selling to go beers at the festival. They could have easily just given me a yes or no about the hand trucks, but went out of their way to mention the discontinuation of case sale at the festival. I'd say my alleged "rumor" has some legs. More than most rumors.

 

This thread is always a highlight of the year in sheer entertainment.

 

Remember late last week when someone was surprised that this thread had only gotten to 10 pages? That didn't last long.

#1 rule of a DLD thread. Don't listen to one word anyone says about changes from the previous year until FFF officially posts something.

 

But is that rule official?

 

If they don't have other to-go beers on DLD they'll have them the day before and/or after at the brewery. It's more convenient to pick up cases the day before anyway than having to carry them around the festival. Stop whining dude, have a beer and relax.

 

...said no one ever about DLD.

Cmon..I'm sure sometime in your life you've been upset about something that went against your expectations too. In fact I bet it happens all the time. We're allowed to talk about that stuff like that in here. It's the Dark Lord Day thread.

Anyway, looking forward to the event regardless.

 

Rumors....if you feel like you wasted money, find the silver lining! Stop listening to 311 and Sublime with Rome, and brush up on some metal, and when they post the band schedule, brush up on the bands. Bring your good beers and whales and get ready to share them with your friends and a bunch of other people who are there for the party. When you're there, drink beer, stand in lines and watch the bands, and think about how shitty it would be if you were wheeling cases of beer around in the rain (I heard a rumor that its gonna rain)....but this is only if the rumor is true that they're not selling boxes of beer...

 

I definitely need to learn the bands once they are official. I don't know much about that type of metal, but I'm willing to give it a chance.

 

I'm assuming the rain part is a jab.

 

Honestly, my biggest disappointment at DLD this year will be the wedding I have to go to that day.

Not that I'm disappointed that friends are getting married. Just sad that it means I'm not drinking, since I need to drive immediately after getting my bottles in Group A.

 

If they don't sell cases on DLD do you think the kiosk will still be open till midnight Friday?

 

I heard the kiosk will be closed the Friday before and the Sunday after Dark Lord Day.

 

They said they would be open but you have to buy 2 pint glasses, a shirt, and a trucker hat for each case you want to buy. New rules this year.

 

I just got an e-mail back from the brewery.

"Hi Jordan,

Thank you for taking the time to e-mail us. Right now, we are not planning to allow any bottles of beer onto the festival grounds due to ordinances that have been levied against us by local officials citing trouble with last year's event. While we feel this is unfair, we are hoping to make up for it this year by also preventing any festival-goers from entering with clothing on. This will help us determine who is an event employee and who is simply there to enjoy our beer (think shirts vs. skins!).

Wow this event is completely changing. As of this moment I am so glad I have tickets!

 

I am not sure having festival goers without clothes a good idea. I don't think most DLD goes are supermodels...
