depends upon the dominant hops flavor in the ipa.
sucks (for grapefruit) and resin (for pine)

I'm always happy when I find something as grapefruity as a fresh sucks.

Either Torpedo or Southern Tier IPA... many are way better, many are way worse...

The lowest rated IPA I drink regularly is Sweetwater IPA, which is completely underrated at 89. I only buy about 5 different ones though.

Jai Alai (and white oak the once a year I see it)
    Sweetwater IPA
    60 min
    2 Hearted
Lil Sumpin Sumpin (I know its a pale wheat, but it tastes like an IPA to me)
    Headhunter

Par for a DIPA is tough. I only drink great ones:

    Dirtwolf
    Hop ranch
    Sucks

Two Hearted. Mostly citrus/grapefruit with a hint of pine. And I can reliably get it for under $10/6. No brainer.

The midpoint between SeaHag and LagunitasIPA, that's my par.

I can't edit the above post, it's too late but I buy Sweetwater IPA MOST because its great, its always fresh, and its usually on sale for around 7.50 a sixer at Publix during the summer.

Stone IPA was my first ace, but it is now my par. I often have gatherings with friends where we try to bring something new and exciting. The myriad choices often have us sharing bombers, resulting, more or less, in a "flight" as the winos call it.

You learn a lot about a beer, when it is tasted back to back with its brethren.

I learned that Lagunitas IPA, which is very good, seemed insignificant when a Stone IPA hit my lips next. Stone remained that top dog for a long while (if you've never been to their pub in SD county, make the trip it is worth it!). Recently, I followed a Stone IPA with another SD brew, but newer to the game, Saint Archer IPA. It was like a symphony on my tongue, immediately following the Stone. I was blown away, as I expected the opposite. One of my guests remarked, "That is beautiful!".

I've not had the pleasure of imbibing many of the brews listed on this thread, but I will be actively searching.

    Cheers!

Stone IPA. It is easy to find, always good, and I would happily have it any time. It is the IPA that I would compare all others to. Some are better, some are worse, but this is my baseline.

Since the original recipe GF WCIPA is no more, I'll go Racer 5.

Though wish our distro would make it a more difficult decision with Odell IPA and Surly Furious. And the folks that get to say Headhunter is their par, I'm jealous, fresh it's definitely a birdie for me.
