Haha they are buttholes, I don't care that they have that opinion but it was one guy who started it now theres a bunch of minions who are always agreeing with him. Mainly because he has good beer and all the people grovel to him. It's a Facebook page called Arizona Craft Beer Lovers, really good people but not the most knowledgeable community. God forbid you post a legitimate trade on there you will get hammered with ridiculous responses. We used to use it to organize shares but now we have a 7 person Phoenix Bottle Shares group on there haha.

We have the same issues in our NJ Facebook group too. I don't even participate, it's either people shitting on the beer you are drinking, or just a dick swinging competition.

I'm in 4 or 5 facebook beer groups and while there's an occasional nugget or interesting conversation (mostly in the smaller mn group), most of it is pure crap. Our thread here seems to keep the jackassery out somehow.

Actually, "me" is correct. It is the difference between the subjective and objective case of the first person singular pronoun. I is a subject pronoun, as in, "I didn't drink last night because I had too many essays to grade." Me is an object pronoun, as in, "Please pass that tasty adult beverage to me because the papers are finally graded."

There is a simple test to determine if you should use I or am. To figure out if your pronoun is the subject of a sentence or an object in a sentence, simply substitute another personal pronoun into the sentence and decide if it sounds right:
he=subject pronoun (as in, "he went to the store"); therefore, you would also use "I."
him=object pronoun (as in, "give it to him"); therefore, you would also use "me."

You might actually be more pedantic than he. (no go--sounds funny)
You might be more pedantic than him. (Hooray! That's it!)

Therefore, the correct sentence would be, "You might actually be more pedantic than me."

:grinning: (Now who's the most pedantic?)

(Let's not start talking about who, whom, whose and who's...)

My current status reflects my overall view of FB craft forums, they are the butthole of the craft beer community.

If I see one more KBS post I'm going out in one of them in a blaze of glory:angry:

The one redeeming quality of our FB group is a ton of the local bottleshops post when they are getting or get bottles. Since I work evenings mostly I have an inherent advantage to immediately go grab bottles anytime before work.

I wouldn't even trade my HF shelf saisons for KBS.

This - don't blame you at all. Just find it amusing the worth of KBS to all the new money in MI.

Nor would I, but if I had a glut of Arthur and got shut out of KBS completely, I'd seriously consider it. With that said, I've never had a glut of Arthur, so this is somewhat moot.

There's always a smart ass in class isn't there. And it's a good thing because they usually catch my mistakes...

While the simple test indicated above (he/I vs. him/me) works in most cases, I seemed to miss the addition of the word "than" in the original sentence, which results in an exception to the rule.

In this case, "than" is a comparative adjective that is being use to compare "you" and "I"--both subjects (because we can only compare equals--i.e. apples to apples). Therefore, the correct version of the original sentence would be, "You might actually be more pedantic than I."

I stand corrected, and @dwmetsan13 earns a gold star next to his name.

And now if I were @Mipper, I'd lurk back out to grade more essays...

Wait, so @dwmetsfan13 gets a gold star for helping you realize your mistake while still being wrong (can't end a sentence with 'am'), but I don't get one for being right in the first place? :astonished:

According to http://www.grammarphobia.com/blog/2008/03/i-anxiety.html we are both correct.

"But a sentence like “He’s bigger than me” would never be correct in standard English. Both “He’s bigger than I” and “He’s bigger than I am” are correct.

Some people might find that “He’s bigger than I” sounds a little formal without the implied verb at the end. So my preference would be for “He’s bigger than I am.”"

I have friends that have a good taste for beer that love heresy, I can't seem to get into it. Tried fresh and vintage bottles. I love their quad, and insanity. Hoping their coffee stout is good, other than that not a huge fan of most of their stuff.
