Proof that people really do go for the DL.

Yes. They said that despite the current construction in the area, newly purchased plot/s will increase the size of the event enough to sell several thousand more GA tickets.

Not a fan of this personally. That just means 3-4k more people in line for taps, and last year was bad enough. Combined with possibly not being allowed to bring in bottles to share, it may be a pretty sobering beer event.

They've confirmed to me via e-mail that you can bring beer in to share as always. My guess is more room could also mean more taps, too.

I'm really hoping they have twice the taps this year with no package sales. That would keep the lines about the same as last year.

Yeah, this is my concern as well. I got shut out of Dark Lord tickets (GA-only), and if they're still on sale today, I'm worried about the beers on tap (due to the amount of people coming in).

Yeah if they have the same # of taps and significantly increased the admittance quantity along with no to go sales, I'll probably get my allotment and go back out and tailgate.

I can't believe this. I waited in line for 8 seconds for a pour of brandy dark lord last year. If that doubles to 16 seconds this year i might just lose my shit.

    Not everyone cuts in line.

Unfortunately I didn't have that experience. Every time I got in line the "rare" taps were gone way before I got to the front. This was in the middle of the afternoon, and admittedly I didn't try all day (so I probably just had bad timing), but as I'm shut out of bottle sales completely, I'm hoping to try some good stuff on tap. I'd be fine waiting 16 seconds though, if you really twist my arm...

It's called I actually stayed for the whole event. Most people left late afternoon. Then once the sun set and the wind became freezing there wasn't a single line at any tap.

Happens every year. In 2012 they tapped CBS at 9:30, I got 2 pours. Then they said last call, so with no line I got another pour.

It really clears out later in the day, and they save some really good stuff for later. Most people clear out early, because they started drinking at 6AM.

I'm glad to hear that we at least have some confirmation of being able to bring bottles in after they stopped it halfway last year.

So did you just stay in line and get a wristband at the gate?

Okay, that makes a lot of sense. I left around 4ish, I think, when it started to get brutal. I'll have to include that info in my plans for this year.

Yeah that's why I got group C tickets. I liked the fact of not waiting for vanilla dl around 8, and when they were shutting down my buddy and I got free space station middle finger for the walk back to the parking lot.

Same last year for BVDL pours, luckily I had a growler in my cooler backpack and they filled it for me.

They directed me to the line on the other side. That's where I ended up getting my wristband and entered the premesis. I even walked back over to the "group A" line to meet with someone and there were 3F security asking me what group I was in and telling me to go back to the other line. This was all right before the gates opened. Not sure if that made a difference.

So if we can't bring bottles into the festival, what will we drink waiting in line for the Dark Lord? That was the best part of the festival IMO. That squiggly line entering the back of the brewery was prime for sharing beer... Was going to bring FW PNC, Apple Brandy Noir, and some Jester King sours.. Should I still bring it?

I'd plan to bring everything assuming sharing is allowed and I am sure by the event will will know for sure one way or another.
