    (1) CBH: maple barrels are absolutely perfect for this beer.
    (2) CBS: incredible stout, although I much prefer KBS, as maple syrup and chocolate aren't the greatest combo
    (3) BM: very solid but unspectacular beer
    (4) FMB: okay beer, but hard to drink because the hazelnut tastes so fake. A disappointment.

Well, I got ***** to the tune of $16.99 for each of my two bottles of FMB. Drank one Friday night and was thorougly nonplussed. It smelled INCREDIBLE. Really, really good. But the taste wasn't there. Fake hazelnut as some have said, and surprisingly light feeling for a 9% beer. If this was $11 per six-pack, I'd probably buy this every couple months. But at the price point and given how much I enjoyed the first three backstage releases, I hoped for much more from this one.

That said, I KNOW that Boltcutter won't dissapoint. Nothing that Founders has put into barrels has ever come close to not being awesome. On that note, I'm already saving to buy like two cases of Backwoods Bastard.

Has it been confirmed that that Boltcutter is barrel aged?

I think you need to come to terms that not everyone will like what you like. I know, it is hard to believe.

I liked it, but didn't love it. One bottle was enough at that price.

CBS was very good, but I still think it has been over-hyped (I prefer KBS and Imperial Stout).
CBH needed more barrel-aging and was a bit sweet for me.
Frangelic was a miss for me. Really boring, but I am not a huge fan of brown ales generally.
I have not tried Blushing Monk.

I have come to those terms, all I asked was I don't get all the hate. You liked it, but didn't love it, which is different than hatin on a brew.

Having never tasted Better Half, I must still submit the fact that Founders Backstage Series brews hide alcohol exceptionally well. Enjoyed a Blushing Monk and Frangelic Mountain Brown tonight, and both beers are dangerously drinkable. Most impressive is the pint glass of FMB that I'm downing. Other than the catch-up-with-you booze, there's a cloak over the taste. As a brewer, they do the best job. Any similar opinions?
