Well, let me think, if I really like and want a beer, then the price really should no matter all that much.

I recently starting drinking their Better Half. For me, its ranking in the Top 10 of the various IPAs I have had.
And the price is very reasonable $8.99 4/pk

As Bruey Reserve Society Member, after membership dues and maxing out on allocations and events, you pay at least $1500 per year.

I don't think that most of the beer content would be coming from Denmark. Remember that Mikkeler isn't an actual brewer, just more of an executive chef, who hands recipes to other breweries.

Given that the wepshop warehouse is right in Copenhagen, I'd imagine that they're still subject to the same high Danish excise tax.

Ok I will take the bullet on this one. I just emailed them to ask what S&H was to Houston TX. Will update here when they respond. Not that I would do this, but am curious on how this would do in the summer heat. Most wineries I deal with don't like to ship in the summer because of the heat in the south

Also tried to see what info the had on their site if you tried to join and I broke their server. So no more beer club

I like that this rewards commitment versus WarPigs, that just rewards those with a shit ton of disposable income. However, this one adds up and WarPigs is a lump sum deal, but you still have to pay for everything else there.

I feel like shipping will probably be at least half the price of the club every month, which ends up being a lot for random Mikkeller brews, no matter how much I love his stuff. I'd still love to be updated on what comes each month if anyone ends up going in on this.

I would get this if I lived in Europe most likely

Their shipping to Australia has somehow gotten even more outrageous than it used to be

If I told you what I pay per month for health care, you would think your beer was cheap.

Heir stuff is so overpriced anyway. I'm not surprised and certainly won't support this. To each his own

Ok, they said when I added the club to my cart it would update the shipping. Wait...wait... 690 kr or $100. So my monthly nut on this beer club would be $172. Maybe when I am divorced I could pull this off, but my wife is already up in my shit for my Whole Food beer tab. So if you got 12 bottles your cost would be $14.33 if you got only 6 it would be $28.67 per bottle

He has openly admitted that he doesn't like brewing. He said something to the effect of "it's just manual labor" and made it seem waaay below his level. Kinda arrogant

Man I just don't get tying that much $ up in a society like that. Think of all the different beers and places you could experience with that money! I find trading easier and cheaper anyways

Aren't there only like one or two Mikkeller beers that rise to being "great"? Beyond that, you have a lot of mediocre-good beers that cost SO much more than "great" beers from other breweries. Their bottles clogging up bottle shop shelves annoys the shit out of me.

Your taxes are certainly high and widely varied, but the only way to determine if they are outrageous is to balance the taxes against the services you get.

Too many people here in the U.S. have a knee-jerk reaction against taxes per se. However, I'd gladly pay more taxes on my beer and everything else if that translated into universal health care, a functional public transportation system, a social safety net for the elderly and impoverished, etc.

Not liking brewing and not brewing are two separate things, though. He DOES brew a fair bit, regardless.

I agree. You might be interested in his documentary on YouTube. It's like 25mins long. Pretty interesting - all about how he got to where he is.

He made it sound like he doesn't brew much anymore tho
