Firestone Walker Parabola 2015

I got three bottles last week in Chicago area

 

So, how was it? lol

 

If I were to walk into a total wine or bevmo, where would their Parabola/Sucuba be located (granted they had any)? Do they keep them hidden and you have to ask, or are they on the shelves?

Related question: Anyone in the Phoenix area know when the Parabola is expected to hit shelves? I talked to a dude at A.J.'s and he said he *thinks* that they usually hit in April. If that's true, kind of a long wait after launch..

 

I haven't seen any on the shelves in SoCal just yet, but if any of you Midwest/East Coasters would like some, shoot me a message and I'll keep an eye out for trade. I'm interested in some BA Stouts/Barleywines that we don't get in CA.

Sold out in 15 minutes today at Binnys DG. Just missed the last bottle, guy with it was walking out as I walked in and there were 4 guys right behind me...

Was in the same boat with the St. Charles Binnys.

 

I don't even try for the Downers Grove releases unless I'm in my car and more than halfway there, as I get the tweet. The beer guys in that area swarm there in minutes.

 

Haven't had one yet.

 

Beer chasing in Chicagoland is just out of control. I was able to snag a bottle at the Naperville Binny's yesterday morning. I called to see if it had come in (they don't use twitter anymore because beer chasers were getting furious and yelling at them when PW beers would sell out in under 15mins after a tweet...) and the guy on the phone said there was just a small handful left because there were a bunch of people in the store since they opened waiting for it to arrive. Ridiculous in my opinion.

 

Was told it should be on shelves in SoCal next week.

 

The 2013 I replaced with my 2015 in my cellar was very tasty.

 

Sounds about right for Chicago. If the particular Binnys location uses Twitter you are screwed unless you are 5 minutes away. Even then, there are roaming packs of people waiting in the store for the delivery (or camped in the parking lot / following the truck).

 

Used to not be a problem. Don't know where these guys all come from. I can literally walk there from my house and my office is 4 miles away. I don't try for many but I loves me some FW, skunked again...

 

And I wonder how many are buying to trade and acquiring multiples or are they actually drinking themselves. It has gotten crazy every since these stores started using Twitter..

 

Agreed. My other go to is Sav Way out by me and they were talking about not even fielding calls about it because of customers being dicks when they showed up late and it was gone.

I don't mind missing out on much but FW is one of the few I get irritated about not being able to get.

 

I wouldn't doubt if more places dump Twitter and possible even stop fielding calls about it. I"m sure having an employee making $10/hour being tied up to answer a phone call every 3 mintues, "is it in yet?" when will it be in?"etc etc, probably eats any profit they would make on selling the 12-24 bottles of XYZ release they'd get. Coupled with the increasingly dickish behaviour of people, it'll happen soon enough.

 

My friends threw a diaper party/bottle share for me before my daughter was born. How can you beat great beer and free diapers!?

 

Sold out in 15 min? This is is rediculus. A beer that was pretty easy to get last year and now places are getting hardly any? What a joke.
