Considering Jacob's post was on the 18th, the changes won't be effective until any cans after said date.

    So complex guyz.

I gotta admit, the 3/10 4-pack I picked up from the Fermentarium this weekend tasted off. It's not the same as one of my 4-packs from the earlier batch.

Same. They were off as in all four cans went down the drain.

Just wanted to give you guys an update on the dissolved oxygen situation. We are now seeing a 93% improvement, which puts us into very good territory. We're still working on improving things further, but since we are in acceptable range (these are the best numbers we've ever gotten since we started canning) we have begun packaging the next batch of Booming Rollers. Should make a world of difference.

    Cheers & thanks,

One more Booming Rollers data point: picked up a 4-pack, with the date 2/16/15 at Tustin Liquor yesterday. I was out of town when these first rolled out, so missed getting them fresh. I was glad to find some, and they were in the refrigerator. I've had two cans so far, and the beer is excellent. It was probably better fresh, but no off flavors whatsoever. If it's better fresh, my mind would be blown.

Also, please send up the 20-packs to OC Costcos next time - preferably either Tustin or Fullerton. I would buy them all the time if they were up here.

I picked up 8 cans at Lomaland on release day and finished the last one tonight. While it definitely did not have the same citrus punch as it did fresh it still tasted great with absolutely no off flavor going on.

So... I guess some passive bitching here from a big MT fan....
I'd have to go back and look at total bottle count for the previous Monsters release because fewer bottles overall is the only way I'm understanding the 1 per limit placed on these & then a struggle with those price points.
You had previous BA MP sold, as well as BA w/ coffee, all at $20 each with 4per limits and I think the coffee was 2per. (didn't manage to grab the original MP coffee)
All had that under carb issue that went unnoticed until customers had them in hand.
IMO, a very "Modern Times" route to take would've been to at least honor the original price point on the BA and BA w/ coffee as a way of making up for the first go. (charge a bit more for the coco+cocoa, fine.)
But instead its, "Hey, we know that we had issues the first time so we've solved those and are giving you the opportunity to buy less at a 20/30/40% mark up. We good?"
Of course, bottles selling out in 3 minutes speaks for itself.

I just recently had my Tennessee whiskey Monsters Park and it was freaking delicious. Like I slurped it. Caught off guard on how good it was even with the low carb situation.
I'm looking forward to these for sure, just would've liked to see it go down a little differently.

Jacob has made it clear a couple times that seeing how fast things sold out, he would be lowering limits in the future to try to spread them around. If you don't read the forums much it would be entirely possible to miss that, but it's not something that caught me off guard, nor do I disagree with it, even if I find it personally disappointing.

As far as the pricing...there are a lot of potential angles to explain a bump and counter arguments to some of them, but as long as people will buy up every drop in a matter of minutes, there's no reason to reduce the price. Anyone who has been doing this long enough looks back at old pricing models and yearns for $20 BCS that sat on shelves year round or $12 Parabola or whatever else. As long as demand drastically outstrips supply, there are going to be people bitching about getting shut out, people bitching about the prices being too high, and people bitching about not being able to buy more. If you don't think a given beer is worth it, bow out, but as long as you pay for it, you're part of the process that allows for price increases. Not knocking you for that, but money speaks louder than words.

While I don't necessarily disagree with you on the price increase gripe, the original coffee was $23.

The problem with this "honor the original price point" thing as a way of making up for the first go is you just said how delicious it was. What do they have to make up for exactly? I bought the original round. They were undercarbed and they were all great. I don't think they have anything to make up for there.

Definitely good points. Yeah.... like I said, very surprised about how good the whiskey BA Monsters Park was and my Rye is still sitting while many have said that's even better.
It just felt like such a quick jump in price for similar beers, outside the coco. Many felt the same way when those prices showed up for MP after just getting in on the release what, 9 mos ago?...
But like I said in my original post, Sold out for the most part in 3 min. I definitely missed that the limits would be going down, especially down to 1 per. You can only say congrats to the quickness that the variants sold. Same thing with Veritas... a lot of noise about pricing and then boom, 2 min and it's all sold out. It is what it is.
Appreciate the place to vent a bit. Modern Times are honestly wizards with their flavor profiles and they'll only continue to knock it out the park. I'll just need to start a monthly savings plan.

The jump in price, again, is in part due to having to buy the equipment to prevent the same mistake from happening. I'm happy to pay the extra even though I felt that the flat aspect of the past release wasn't an issue.

Had 8 cans from the first canning of Booming and they were all great until my last one which I opened slightly more than 1 month after the canning date. This last can was oxidized with presence of diacetyl. Thankfully all the others I drank within 6 weeks and they were all delicious.

Is anyone going to the Monster's Park release party? Sounds like they'll have some good stuff on tap. Bummed I cant make it especially since the bottle purchase provides admittance. Skipping work on a Wednesday to go to SD is not something I can do right now.

I'll be there later in the evening, probably like around 7:30-8pm until close. Then obligatory InnOut before the drive home.

That's what I thought. Got confused with his "since the bottle purchase provides admittance" statement.
