Pizza Port Ponto and Easy Jack are my two favorites. I was actually very pleasantly surprised with Slow Ride from New Belgium, as I usually don't like their hoppy offerings.

Side question: Lagunitas Daytime is the first session IPA I ever remember hearing of, and it came out a full year before I saw anyone else doing it. Did they originate the style or were there others before Daytime?

To answer my own question, David Walker likes to think of Pale 31 as the original Session IPA. And it really does fit the bill of session IPA better than it does American Pale Ale.

Thus far, Pinner is as good as this style gets. We are stocking it for our upcoming nuptials.

Dogfish Head 60 or 90 never tried 120 but they seem to be more fresh and flavorful than some others i've drunk

I seem to remember absolutely adoring Lagunitas DayTime...seriously, I need to drink that one again. Best one I've had recently is Oskar Blues Pinner.

Dogfish 60 is most certainly fresh and flavorful. 90 is pretty fresh too. 120 is a whole different animal.

But you are a bit new, eh. You prolly didn't pick up on the fact that this isn't a discussion about IPAs that are sessionable, but rather a more esoteric topic of "session IPAs".

But it doesn't matter. You like Dogfish, therefore you have good taste. Welcome to the forums!

thanks stoutmasterjam, you are right i hesitated to answer, but felt dogfishhead was a worthy truth, also doublechecked before posting and noticed dfh classified its 60 as session for hardcore hopheads so i resigned myself to whatever abuses that might entail as it is honestly my most memorable ipa and i've had many, please inform if you will, what exactlly is an ipa session style in contrast to any ol' ipa

Just took a trip to Southern California and tried Pizza Port Ponto. I'm down to the last can and I love it!

Pinner and Fat Slim both from Oskar Blues the latter was a collab with La Cumbre that came out last year. Pinner was the child of that collab.

Dales Pale Ale has given me an extra crazy hangover but i bet thats because i bought a sixer to go after a night of drinking with my buds in fact i shared the sixer but the high hops after a bunch of drafts meant i was not going to buy DPA soon lol... i know its a seperate topic but cans, it was cans. draft and bottle always seem easier going down. i think cans are for boats

It's either Lagunitas Daytime or Lakefront's Extended Play for me. I think Lagunitas does the hops a little better and EP has got more balance.

Hop hunter goes really good with lunch this week. Although I'll have a stone go to ipa if I gotta leave for work in an hour or two and I'm cutting it short. Also an enjoy by bomber makes a nice session alone.
