For some local love. I nominate Mraz "G'day IPA" and Altamont Beer Works "Hella Lite."

Every time I have an IPA it's a session. Cheer with Madtree's Galaxy High DIPA

Most of the beers mentioned in this thread do not qualify.A session beer has to have two attributes , very low ABV and drinkability. The sort of beer you want to drink pint after pint over a long period.
We've had session IPAs this side of the pond for nearly a century. But not IPAs like the ones in this thread , just the ones that directly evolved from the beers sent to India.

    Carton Boat Beer

Described as a "session ale" on the can, but could also be described as "white grapefruit blast." It's 4.2% ABV, but really, I drink it because it's a great beer. The lower ABV is just a bonus.

I haven't had many but Detour by Muskoka Brewing (Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada) is my absolute favourite. The same flavours you get in a full strength IPA in a 4.3% package. It's one of my go to beers right now.

Carton Boat. It is a 4.7% APA by definition here on BA, but it has massive flavor, it is under 5%, and it says "Session Ale" on the can, so I think that counts.

There are many IPAs under 5% here, only they are not called Session IPAs. We call them IPAs.

Carton Boat and it's really not close to me. I used to love All Day, then I had Boat. Boat crushes it in every conceivable way. I make regular drives to NJ to get some, and I'll be going a lot more frequently in the summer.

All Day is what I drink the most of.

Would be Easy Jack if available here.

Not packaged or widely available is 7venth Sun Time Bomb, which I always drink at the few places in town that have it.

Carton Boat and Upland Campside are my 2 faves and neither are available locally to me but I'd crush them all the time if they were.

A session IPA is a relatively new style where brewers put out beer that is specifically low in alcohol (typically under 5%) but is very hoppy in taste like a regular IPA. The session IPA has become a hugely popular style but some people feel the need to comment on a thread specifically only asking for "favorite" session IPA with their opinion that all session IPAs are garbage.

I would say that beer that is low in alcohol is under 3% (of which there are many). Thinking of the different types of beer to be found in the world, 4-5% is certainly not 'low alcohol'.

I disagree. Most lagers and pale ales I drink are over 5%. Even macro light beers are over 4%. For most of us, 4-5% is on the low end of the spectrum. This is 'Murica. We do things big here!

Does Modern Times' Fortunate Islands count? That was amazing!!! If not, Lagunitas Daytime is delicious.
