It's good, but people are labeling this as a KBS or BCBS killer - I don't get it.

This stuff definitely needs some time to age before that discussion should even be allowed. Still too boozy and hot to determine anything IMO.

Considering its taste, price and availability and the fact that I didn't have to wait in line at the crack of store openings just to purchase 1 bottle, I think it definitely beats KBS. However BCBCS > all.

I can agree with this. BCBS should not be in the same conversation, but I'd like to see SMS against KBS in about 6-7 months.

This beer is extremely boozy, could not even finish a 4oz pour from a bottle. Going to lay the rest of my 4 pack down, or just give them away. Swing and a miss.

Very interested to see how SMS will taste in a half a year as well.

    Sucks for you.

Edit - ...that you find it boozy. No snark intended.

I didn't think it was boozy at all. I actually thought the barrel was lacking little...

For me, it was easier to drink than a BCBS. Finishing a 12oz BCBS is a challenge for me.

I would not put this beer in the same sentence as BCBSC, but as an easy purchase, decent coffee stout, I found it drinkable and enjoyable. Not sure I would call it a KBS killer, but if I had a choice of driving around for 1 bottle of KBS per store and buying a couple 4 pks of this, I would agree. Not the BEST coffee stout ever, but its above avg.

It actually reminds me a bit of Peruvian Morning (when it's not infected), perhaps more so than it does of KBS.

I loved peruvian morning when I got to try it. I thought this was pretty good, but not great. I will be aging the rest of my 4 pack.

Wegmans Malvern had around 10 4-packs left as of 6:30 tonight. $14.99

    Picked up another to age.
