I know people that live there, too. It is what it is... a trendy urban area and they don't tend to frighten me. East Cleveland, Tijuana, Manilla, certain parts of England, Prague after dark, etc., are all different stories. Would a cab be safer? Probably, but so would cloistering yourself inside your house all day.

I'll tell that to the girl I know who had a shotgun in her face outside of Prosperity Social Club. Anyway, to each their own. I personally would direct an out-of-towner to the safest methods possible. In Ohio City I've had multiple servers at Momocho tell me NOT to walk to Great Lakes and West 25th from there.

Yes, violent crime happens, even in my lily white suburb. If you have ever stepped foot in Chinatown or Brooklyn(NY) after dark, you were at greater risk than in Tremont. But whatevs, we are just two different people and that makes the world go round.

To me the larger issue is walking from Tremont to W25th/Ohio City. There is not a straight walking path and the route takes you across less than pedestrian friendly areas. I'd be more worried about auto traffic than anything else. Again, Uber or cab.

Alright folks staying in tremont area this fri till sun on west 10th st. Here is our tentative list of places we would like to try. Any omissions or things I should drop let us know. We are arriving around noon Friday but Friday is mostly shot since we are headed to blossom for a concert mid afternoon.

Any help with grouping places together in terms of timing/distance/hours would be great. Any idea how much an uber to fatheads/brew kettle from tremont would cost?

Great Lakes, market garden, nano brew, platform (day time walk or uber or shuttle)

Fatheads (taproom or restaurant?), brew kettle (possible uber from tremont or drive)

    Town hall
    Tremont tap house (duh)
    Butcher and the brewer

    Bottle shops:
    Lizard ville Lakewood
    Rozis
    Fulton foods (oh city)
    Wine spot

Akron (I may end up with free tix to the PGA sat...hoppin frog if so)

Any great food spots? I know glbc and fatheads were solid. Luckys cafe for Bfast?
Any great spots in tremont itself?

    Thanks!

Pretty solid list, although I have never heard of Fulton Foods.

I prefer Fat Head's Taphouse to the brewpub, but I would check their respective draft options and go from there. Maybe do both.

Deagan's is a great food/beer place and it is basically right next door to Rozi's.

    I prefer Grumpy's in Tremont to Lucky's.

    Have fun

I lived in Tremont for 3 years and did the walk from GLBC to my place at Professor and Literary on multiple occasions. I'm also 6'7" 265lbs and my wife yelled at me despite that. This was also pre-uber. Its probably $5 from OH City to Tremont in an Uber. I'd do that. Around OH City and Tremont, be smart and you should be fine. There's just a no mans land between the two where you have to cross a bridge thats a little dicey if you're alone as @CaptCleveland and @jampics2 said. I've done it, wouldnt recommend it, especially with Uber these days.

Walking around Tremont north of 490 and east of 14th is about as safe as it gets in an urban area till 1am-ish on weekends as most the bars and restaurants are open and there are ppl around / police on foot. If you're on W 10th this will be in that area.

I did see Tremont Tap House on your list. If this is the last stop on your list I'd be a bit wary walking back late at night (say after 11). Its a bit isolated form where you are staying and you have to walk under the interstate, its not well lit, etc. A little bit of the shadier side of Tremont. Walked to and from there often when its light out and would say you're before 10pm. Uber after.

Lastly, #TeamGrumpys or Press Wine Bar for brunch.

Oh, and one other thing food wise! A slice of Edison's pizza if you're pretty tuned up will go a long way for you the next day!

Thanks for the help!! (this is his wife : ) ) we will definitely take your advice. We both have many credits towards rides with lyft right now so that will certainly be our main option at night

Good to hear a first hand account from someone who lived in the area. We are on west 10th between stark weather and kenilworth.

Yep! You're only a street over from the main drag with Edisons, Bourbon St, Press and a couple other places ppl mentioned. Enjoy your stay! Edisons bar has a decent selection of bottles if you need something to drink while waiting for late night pizza.
