If you don't mind me asking, what did you trade yours for? I'm sort of surprised about how little interested there was with these beers on the trade forums.

Traded one set for DBH and some decent extras. The other plus 1 bcbcs, 1 hipster brunch, and 4 hop juju for Nutulhu (ans supposedly some very good extras. That's on its waY, so we'll see. Guy mentioned being a part of brewery reserve, so high hopes haha)

On the surface, you were taken to the cleaners on both trades. With that said, you were very fortunate to get what you got.

I was under the impression that you had to ***** out your wife AND be willing to assassinate a mortal enemy in exchange for Nutulhu.

People gave me shit going in saying I went too low... BUT, being able to try on draught and KNOWING people wouldn't go crazy over the styles. I'm glad to get what I got. I'm not trying to be about "winning trades" or anything like that. But, my cellar is pretty low right now. I was aiming for some big boys to share with a buddy or 2 this spring, and happy these sets could help me get DBH (which I traded for sr71), and Nutulhu (which is a personal white whale for me considering rarity, and overall opinion). I really enjoyed the Voodoo stuff (althought most besides Bourmuda are a bit hot right now, they should age wonderfully.) Had I not been able to try em on draught, I would have probably kept a set. BUT, I had a feeling most people wouldn't trade as high as those of us who got the bottles would have wanted them too. People are just too much in love with BA stouts, barleywines, and awas. I'm guilty of it myself, so I can't hate on them too much.

I got very lucky... OBVIOUSLY, I traded MORE than just the voodoo set and probably did get taken out to the cleaners. BUT, I just haven't even seen Nutulhu traded often and it isn't even an OPTION on the auction sites to buy. So, I jumped on it... He promised very good extras to even out the $4$ and volume amount... We'll SEE how that goes lol

How long do you think it will take before the heat dies off? Obviously no perfect answer, looking for a general guess.

How much longer do you think you'll live? It still won't be enough time.

Definitely don't know what you are drinking. Didn't find them that hot at all. Loads of barrel character, yes, heat, not so much

Well, I'm trading my four in a blind trade with someone I trust.................I care 0 about getting taken to any cleaners. Beer it forward and make someone happy.

And along with a friend of mine we are ninja'ing someone a set (4) that has been very generous in the past. One good turn deserves another I say.

At first I thought it was rubbing alcohol or possibly nail polish remover but turns out I drank the same as you just not through homer flavored glasses.

I know I am the minority, but I didn't think the IPA was their best work. It was interesting, but I didn't get the hop flavors. All I tasted was barrel. I'll admit that barrel aged IPA's have yet to impress me. It definitely was better on draft when I had it and some hop character. The bottle seemed to be all barrel. I did like Blackbeard and I might be in the minority on that too.

Reviews seem a little mixed. I traded my bottle of Bourmuda and the recipient said he loved it but I shared my allotment with a friend and he didn't care for it. Said the same as you, all barrel and sort of a mess.

I still have Taco Flavored Kisses and Old Jive, but I plan on letting them mellow out for a while before I open them.

I traded all but my bottle of Blackbeard (which is up for grabs if anyone is interested). They were very good but there are many other beers out there I would rather have or want to try more.

Yeah, my wife who loves IPA's took one sip and it handed it right back to me. It's all good cause I enjoy most all of their other beers.

Yeah, people gave me so much shit for trading mine early. But, pre trades are the way to go on things like this (that aren't surrounded by excitement). Seems people like to sit around and wait for everyone else to put it up on trade sites too for some. Pre traded hop juju for vanilla and a prop and then a week after juju came out some people were struggling to get big ipas for it. What's the old saying? "Strike while the iron is hot, no?" I felt mostly everything on draught were definitely hot with too much barrel. I think they should age wonderfully tho, seems everyone just wants to drink now though?

Don't think it's just me who thought they weren't hot. Nothing to do with a homer, I'm from Pottsville, so actually I think Yuengling is the best. Only just moved here recently

It's a safe bet you are in the overwhelming minority who think those weren't hot. People take such umbrage to being called a homer. You go to the pub every Friday and you were given the beer before it's release. You're a homer. It's ok to be a homer.

If you knew how to read, I said, nothing to do with being a homer, I never once said I wasn't a homer. I said my thoughts on the beer have nothing to do with the fact I am a homer. I don't find any offense to the term at all.

maybe the joke about Yuengling threw you off though?

Also I know it's ok to be a homer. I have no problem with that, I guess it's ok to be a self righteous pompous a hole too I guess? Because that's how you always come off
