i always check the reviews when a bomber or 4/6 pack is over $15 before i buy and if it rates higher then a 90 i start to consider it

Craft beer is phenomenal. Period, if you cant deal with the prices don't drink.. But who can actually NOT drink? I believeI've spent way too much money. But by now i already know what i like and dislike.. So thats ones of the biggest reasons I've turned to Home Brewing.

Best Prices by far: De Garde I mean come on the level of things they are putting out for $6-$14 per bottle is insane.

Most overpriced is Prairie. Considering you can get a 4 pack of Mothers MILF (Imp stout aged in 5 different barrels) or Central Waters BA Stout for $12.99 and Regular bomb is nearly $10 or more in most states besides Oklahoma is insane. 12oz BA Stouts for $15+ is ridiculous, especially with the utter lack of quality control.

I love Scotch. Once in a while. As a rare treat.

I should have been more clear; my personal threshold for beer is a buck an ounce.

Most overpriced is Cascade Brewing. Fine beers, but... thirty bucks for a 750 ml bottle? Nope.

Absolutely. The price point on Bomb is ridiculous and given the perpetual risk of an infected bottle I don't really understand why anybody buys it.

Why would there be a "perpetual risk of infection" with a bomber?

Most likely. I don't think the infection issues at Prarie has anything to do with the bottle size. I'd find the price outlandish at $15/12oz or $30/22oz. I don't think the beer is worth that price aside from the infection issues but once that is factored in the value of the beer as a function of price and quality goes down considerably. I have bought more than a few Prairie beers and I guess I just don't understand the hype or the justification for the price other than hype.

It seems like we are on the same page. But, in reality, that's the way many industries are with the "limited edition" this and that. I can't blame them either. Using the "fear of missing out" ploy to drive demand for products is just fine by me; that's good marketing. As a consumer do I love it? Not particularly, but these breweries operate a business. As long as there are people out there who buy into the hype and marketing, the prices will continue to rise. But prices for all craft beer will also continue to rise at a healthy pace as demand for craft beer continues to increase.

Spencer Trappist Ale is $17.99 a 4/pk. One of my favorites, but if it wasn't brewed by monks and the price was just profit based I wouldn't justify the expense.
