Does anyone know if this makes it to upstate NY? We definitely get most FW beers.

 

Hey LA peeps. As of last Friday (haven't checked in this week) Golden State on Fairfax tapped a keg of Parabola 2010. At least when I was there no one seemed interested. Might still be available. Also tapped 2012 Tart of Darkness, which was delicious.

 

I'm 4 hours south of the brewery and I have not seen any Parabola.

 

Local Oakland Bevmo had a few, but sold out quickly

 

I just bought 6 bottles at Costco in fountain valley, oc. The guy in front of me bought the other 18 bottles, and just like that, Costco is out of stock.

 

Any left in the San Diego area?

 

Store I spoke with in LA said they'd be getting it this week, either tomorrow or Friday.

 

How many days does this usually take to sell out at the brewery? Area people love to spin tall tales about this being a shelf turd, but whenever I contact traders, they claim it's sold out.

 

Think it just depends on the area. My Bruery trustee in LA says it usually sits in BevMo's in such in his area for a few days, but not what I'd call a shelf turd.

Nice score. The guy in front - holy crap - 18 bottles... Well I suppose if I saw a few cases lying around I would have bought them too. Can't blame someone for picking up a deal like that. Was it cheap in Costco too?

 

Last year I think it was available for atleast a couple months at barrelworks but they lowered bottle limits to 2 after awhile. Buellton is fairly out of the way for most so making a long drive for only 2 bottles isn't worth it for most so it should last a little longer than you would expect up there vs if the whole supply was sitting somewere like LA or the Bay Area.

 

Yeah only $11.74 after tax. I hear they charge 15.99 at bevmo, and 20.99 at total wine, whole foods is probably around those same prices, so yeah for that price its a steal.

I should reiterate. The guy behind** me bought the remaining 18 bottles. I am starting to think I should have bought more.

 

Last year I was in Paso during the Firestone Beer Festival (towards the end of May) and I was able to pick up bottles of Parabola no problem.

 

Re: Parabola sitting on shelves - last year a friend of mine got me a bottle in Oregon in August. There were multiple just sitting out, and not at crazy prices or anything. I can't imagine anything remotely this sought after sitting on shelves in SE MI for days or even hours, let alone 6 months.

 

I'd say it sitting for 6 months is more the exception rather than the rule, didn't last more than a day or 2 of the few places I know of it here in the Bay Area.

Cracked one last night. 2015. It's amazing as usual, I did notice much more pronounced dark fruit flavors than 2014 or 2013. And yes, 2014 is better lol
