People come from all over the country who have heard about the "legendary" NG fruit beers and are happy to try them. They know they're shelf beers but don't want to bother trading. And they're pretty tasty
Exactly. Just order interesting beer. You won't be disappointed.

I can't speak for the hotels, having never stayed at either. However, I grew up in Lansing and now live in Highland(Munster's neighbor) and I would not recommend Lansing. Don't get me wrong, it's not terrible, (my mom still lives there) it's just not what it was 20 yrs ago. Schereville is closer, and an easy drive to FFF from the hotel. RT 30 west to Calumet North. Plus there are more options around that hotel then the one in Lansing. Obviously, it's just my opinion. figured I'd just add my $.02.

@mdomask has the right attitude about the guest tap lines. If you get to caught up in what's coming and going, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. Last year, during one of my many waits in the guest tap lines, by the time I got to the front of the line they had already killed kegs of BCBCS, DB Hunah, and VBDL, the latter literally minutes before I got the the front. I actually never got to drink any DL on tap last year either. Every time I got the the front of a DL line they said the keg had just kicked. I even managed to miss out on the vintage DL bottle sales right after they sold out. However, I still got to try other whales every time I went through the line. And what I didn't get in the line I got through shares. So just go ahead and accept the fact that you're going to miss out on some things, perhaps even a lot of things, but you're still going to have a blast.

Agree that Lansing isn't bad, it's but if given a choice I'd pick Schererville.

I am at the Comfort Inn in Hammond, is that an ok area?

As far as lodging is concerned, @Fat_Maul , you really shouldn't sweat where you're staying. If the hotel reviews are decent, I'd presume you're fine. You're really just using the rooms as a functional base of operations. That said -- the Hammond Comfort Inn is nice.

I am also staying at the Lansing HI Express. I will join a bottle share there as well. Should we start a list? I can post what I will have later.

We should decide where the bottle shares will be.

There nothing (I mean more than any other place) to worry about. Hammond isnt as nice as Munster but its not a bad area.

I am in the Comfort Inn as well if you are up for a Friday bottle share. Even if its low key.

I used to deliver pizza in Lansing. The HI Express is a nice hotel. In Lansing, though, I would avoid the Days Inn, Motel 6, and Star Way Inn. The Howard Johnson and Red Roof Inn are OK in a pinch. There's also a Comfort Suites and Sleep Inn that are alright. The Extended Stay is cool, too. That being said, Schererville is way closer.

Just don't go venturing into the ghetto at night. Stay out of Harvey and Cal city and you will be fine. If you have time I would check out Flossmoor station. They have some great beer.

    1. I assume there will be a bottle share at the Hampton on Fri again?

    2. Has anybody heard if Flossmoor is having a pre-DLD party/bottle release again this year?
