Jackie O's (2018)

Yes me as well. Only a few beers I am willing to spend hundreds of dollars on.

 

You saying in general, or just in this case?

 

I was speaking just in the case of Black Maple but it has happened with other beers.

 

Just want the folks at Jackie O's to know that you guys are killing it. I've been wheeling and dealing trying to accumulate your beers (got a package coming tomorrow with BB Paw Paw and more BB Brick Kiln) to see if it would be worth a stop in May when I bring the kids to the Jack Hanna Zoo and I found my answer the second I drank an Oil of Aphrodite. Holy shit! That beer as well as BB Oil, BB Wood Burner and BB Brick Kiln were moments for me. I've got BB Dark App and Rum Oil lined up for this weekend. Still doing what I can to land a Sherry Oil and BB Black Maple but it's proving tough. But yeah, can't wait to have a meal and a few pints at the brewpub in May. Keep it up.

 

FWIW, if you want more BB Brick Kiln, the local shop here has a bunch sitting in the cooler...

 

Did anyone see the Berliners for this release aren't fruited, they are conditioned on different types of wood.

 

A little disappointing, but I'm gonna trust their judgement and also assume that they're likely tasty. Looking forward to trying something new.

 

There will be some fruited ones too, just trying some different options. Cellar Cuvee 9 (blend of wine barrel blond with chardonnay must and berliner), and Dynamo Fuzz will both be on draft too... everyone relax...

 

anyone know if there are any jackie o's bottles sitting around in vintage estate or chalet premier? I'm not too far, but far enough that I can't just swing by and check in. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

 

From Michigan here, have had a few chances to grab mystic mama and dark apparition just over the border. More than solid
Beers. Trying to set up a nice trade at dld, specifically for a Jackie-O's package. Hoping to somehow land a bb black maple and a regular black maple as part with some kbs, bourbon county, and some past 3floyds releases. Anything else I should really be looking for? Anybody going to dark lord day interested in a trade? I would even be cool with a locals for locals trade involving just some easier to get Jackie-O's stuff. I know the dld trade spreadsheet is most appropriate, but I also wanted to give some props on here. Michigan has a lot of good beers but damn those 2 I tried from Jackie-O's were every bit as good as the Michigan equivalent.

Awesome Brad, I'm actually really excited about the wood conditioned Berliners. Really excited to try Dynamo Fuzz as well, love me some stone fruit beers. Cellar Cuvée 9 sounds really good, I've loved every beer you've done with grape must!

I know the taplist never disappoints, we are staying Friday and Saturday for this release, got a cabin so we can just relax in Athens for a few days.

 

Don't let what you get in bottle limit your choice, the lineup never dissappoints when onsite.

 

Has JOs ever done a soured version of Black Betty? It was one of my favorites when I visited the brewery last fall. Have had a few sour porters and think that an imperial sour/ba porter with raspberries would be amazing, especially from Jackie O's. Would love to see something like that or even just a regular or BBA version available in bottles. I'm probably in the minority here, considering all the other stuff that they could put out.

2010 we did BBBB.

 

Grand wazoo was the soured black betty? I knew there was a reason I loved that beer. Glad I still have a bottle left.

 

Just drank a Grand Wazoo about 10 days ago, still had some raspberry flavors left on it. Was solid.

 

ISO Grand Wazoo... errrrrr, hope to see them try it again in the future!
