Sounds like alot of the crew will be going up to Kuhnhenn on St. Patty's day. Should this be our March tasting or do we want to have that a different date?

Some mentioned they were getting there at 6:30am. If you're planning on going up there what time are you getting there and how long do you plan on leaving?

Maybe Flanders can check w/ the bros to see if they're cool w/ us bring some bottles to share and reserve a few corner tables like they did in May when the FL guys were up?

Not sure what time I'm heading there but I'd guess closer to 10/11am.

I'll be at Kuhnhenns very early (6:30am-ish) but will be leaving later that morning to hit up some real Irish pubs around the Detroit area.

I will be at Kuhnhenn's ealry, but will probably want to drink the beer they have on tap mostly. I say if people want to bring stuff then do some sharing, but not have it as the designated day.

It's rare that I say this: I agree with Matthew.

I know I met you. I meant the other guys! HAHA. Flogging Molly was awesome. I loved "The Powers Out". You have to love the fact that they wrote their last album in a Detroit basement!

I've been meaning to go to one of the Detroit Metro Tastings, count me for March, assuming it doesn't interfere with KBS/Kuhnhenn St. Patty's/Jackie O's releases.

March doesn't look like a good month for me. With our league draft moved up a month I'll be either in a rink, at a meeting or writing reports.

Right now there is no tasting. Who's hosting?

I vote for KBS day...on the other side of the state

If the bros allow it (maybe Flanders can talk to them) what about if we each bring 1 bottle each to share?

I might be able to hosting the local tasting on Fri March 30th or Sat March 31st if there's interest?

I too could host the last weekend of the month, if ya'lls want to drive out my way. I'm more interested in drinking the beer on draft at Kuhnhenn on St.Patty's day and I'm sure there will be plenty of line sharing at Founders on KBS day regardless of a tasting.

No bottles on St Patty's Day per staffer...for whatever that's worth. Reason given was "people weren't buying Kuhnhenn beers"...apparently referring to the Winter Solstice. What horseshit! I'd bet I spent more that day on their beers than their "regulars" spend there in 6 months. Looks like no March tasting :slight_frown:

Bummer, was hoping to get in one more tasting before I move. Oh well, thanks for checking.

I hope that isn't their stance on outside bottles going forward. The people that bring bottles in to share at the Solstice may not be having as much Kuhnhenn beer on tap but the majority of them spend hundreds, even thousands, on bottled beer. They rake in the dough at that event, banning outside bottles is just getting greedy.

The reason they didn't sell much beer at the winter solstice was because the draft list wasn't very impressive.

I totally agree. Other than BA 4D they didn't have much to show compared to previous years.
