Headquarters Beercade: Firkin Fest, March 30th.

    An absolutely ENORMOUS firkin fest with firkins filled by some of the best known craft brewers throughout the country.

    Firkins are my jam, and I helped to set up this event, so I wanted to share this with anyone living in or around the Chicagoland area, because it's simply not to be missed.

    A sampling of the breweries included:
    -Revolution
    -Goose Island
    -Half Acre
    -Lagunitas
    -Surly
    -Founders
    -Great Lakes
    -Bells
    -Great Divide
    -Brooklyn
    -Left Hand
    -Arcadia
    -Vandermills
    -Oskar Blues
    -5 Rabbit

    And more. When I say more, I mean the awesome kind of more.

    Tickets are $40 for 20 pour tickets. If you 're the discerning type or just prefer to get more stuff, there are VIP tickets available at $60: you get in an hour earlier, 5 more tickets, and DMK burger bar is catering for the hour. If you don't know DMK, their food is worth it. Trust me.

    I didn't realize that Chicago had a Beercade. Really cool looking place!

    What's the word on this event? Decent beers? Over crowded? It's this weekend, and tickets are pricey.

    So they raised the price from $40 to $75 ($85 at the door)? Count me out
