Down in the "cold room" where the old folks who lived here before us kept their canned goods. Constant dark and consistent temps. It's not the prettiest set up but it's sturdy and serves it's purpose.

What do you mean? This is beautiful! What's the story with that Vlad the 2nd? Is that a recent release? What's the rarity? Worth trading for?

Was thinking about making a thread about this, but didn't want to take up space. Figured it would fit well in here:

I think I need to invest in a mini fridge or wine cooler. Right now I have some in the fridge, as much as I can fit since I share the fridge with my roommate. And the rest are in boxes in the back of my closet.

Here is what I have. Any ideas on the size of mini fridge I'd need, and should I just get one of those nice small wine cellar fridges?

    FS Parabola x11 (In Box)
    FS Sucuba x5 (In Box)
GI BCS x28 (small 8oz bottles)
LA Serpent Stout x6 (Large bottle)
NC Barrel Aged Old Rasputin x1

Vlad is a BA RIS w/vanilla put out by Hailstorm Brewery, a place out in the South burbs of Chicago. They've been open for just about a year now. They had a bottle release the day after Christmas, limit 3 and I think I remember hearing 800 as far as bottle count goes. It's solid enough but I wouldn't throw much more than $4$ of another limited release to get it. We already cracked one open to give it a try and I'll bring one to DLD to pass around. I'm going to sit on the last one to see what happens after some time.

I live in a 3 bedroom condo and do not have a basement at all. I want to get into aging beers but do not know where the best place to do that would be? Can I age them in a bedroom closet? It is fairly dark in there and does not get too warm.

Any suggestions for a wine fridge that could store 30 beers? All the ones I find online has the bottles horizontal but want something that would keep them vertical.

Check out this one if you get the chance. Danby 4.4cuft MiniFridge. You may be looking for something more cosmetically appealing with the glass front door since you mentioned "wine fridge" but if capacity is what you are looking for this may do the trick. It does not have a freezer compartment that is annoying so you can fit 2 shelves of bottles standing up easily. If I had to guess I would say you could fit at least 30 bombers or 24 750ml bottles in this thing all standing up (no including a few you could fit in the door).

I found a pretty sweet wine cooler for cheap that holds a bunch, but I am starting to get worried about the whole vertical vs horizontal debate.

Try and find one with removable shelves . I took the bottom 2 or 3 out and put bottles in boxes and stacked them. Then i just put all my corked beers on top with some other bottles im not too worried about on the slide out shelves.

You're right @TomCat11 not appeasing but will do the trick. Thanks for the suggestion!

This is what I am looking at: http://www.walmart.com/ip/31136427

There is removable shelves and it seems like the wine rack wire is removable too. So, It can possibly be converted into 2 tall rows.

I would go look at the model in store and take something that as tall as a 22 and look at how much room you really get out of those. Id check local craigslist and see whats on there. Might find a nice deal. If you are in sd like im guessing there is always selling older ones to make way for newer ones and you can get a steal

Ya, what sucks about this product is that it is not in stores. I have to order it online, then they ship it to the stores. It is 32" tall, so that is pretty good. Looks spacious inside.

Also no user reviews which are helpful. Its says 36 wine bottles but i think they get that from lying them down.

Ya, it doesn't look like the best, but it fits nicely within my budget.

This is what I have so far:
    ~12 Parabolas
    ~28 BCS
    ~5 Sucaba
    ~4 The Abyss
    ~6 Serpent Stout

So, I got a lot there, and as of right now (since I am sharing a fridge with my roomie) I only have my 5 2014 Parabolas and Sucabas in the Fridge. Don't have room for the rest.

Thats not a bad starting one for sure. Just gotta remember your collection will only grow and then you will be upgrading faster then you think

No problem. They have them in store where I am but definitely check it out in person if able too just to make sure my guesstimates on capacity are accurate.
