I actually like the aroma. Reminds me of Brett IPA's, a little funky. Definitely different, though. And the taste is straight juicy fruit goodness.

Had CD on tap at the Amesbury Alehouse last week and was thoroughly unimpressed. Aroma was subdued at best and the flavor was reminiscent of Smarties candy. Kind of strange and really doesn't align with what anyone has said.

It's very possible that the keg was old and/or the draft line was dirty. Have had some really good IPAs taste incredibly bland when bars have them pouring for almost a month. And of course they're not going to stop serving something that sells. My first canned Captain's Daughter was three+ weeks old and I was unimpressed. Ones I've had that are a week or so old are very good.

Ya, I'll try a can if I come across one.

It's brewed every 2 weeks but distro outside of RI is spotty.

I'm in total agreement with others that these two are on different levels. CD was overrated IMO. Butterscotch flavor
dominated throughout. Maybe compare HT to GB, Dinner or Second Fiddle. That's a much better debate.

Haven't been able to find CD in cans around me but I had it on tap once a few weeks ago and thought it was just OK. I feel like SOS is still up there in the top DIPA category and would almost prefer that over Gandhi Bot in most cases. Sip is also clearly dated and comes in 16oz cans versus 8oz like Bot and CD so i'm slightly biased.

I also think MBC Dinner should be up there with the top tier New Englanders

By 8oz, you mean 12oz. Really don't get Gandhi Bot hype, especially CT people trying to trade it for Heady/Trillium/etc. Very meh beer. I don't think CD is amazing, but it's better than Gandhi canned when fresh.

yes 12oz. IMO Bot isn't worth the trouble to try to find when there are so many other options. Palate Mallet by Back East has also been tasting pretty good recently.

CT just got another batch dated 3/18. This is the second batch Ive had and I think it's excellent. Been a while since i had Heady but I don't think CD is quite there. I would say it holds it's own against Sip though. I find that beer to be overhyped. Give me Double Sunshine or go home

Sip of Sinshine really needs to drank extremely fresh. Even three weeks old.and it is a different beer imo. Fresh it is better than all the others. CD is very good (I am actually drinking one right now) but it just is not on par with Heady or Sip. I am getting some Swish tomorrow and I am glad to read on this thread that some think it is better than the two I mentioned.

Bot just isn't what it used to be. Its a shame.

Swish is very good, but fresh SoS kills it. Every time I try a hyped up Double IPA I inevitably get let down compared to Heady/Lawsons/HF/Trillium. Other Half All Green Everything impressed me at EBF, but I think it's draft only for now.

Nope they can Green Diamonds. They only sell said cans at the brewery though.

NEBCO's best beers are Coriolis and Locust Reign. They should be canning those. Both absolutely fantastic and stand up to anything else that I have ever had. Bot is good but not as good.

Correct, but Green Diamonds and All Green Everything are two different beers. They're not canning All Green. I was impressed with the latter, not the former. And I agree, Coriolis is killer.

You might be forgetting one :grinning: (insert duck emoji)

I misread that. All Green Everything is supposedly going to be canned soon. Green Diamonds is pretty damn good itself. Other Half's Nelson IPA is awesome as well.

Never had the duck, so I can not comment. Can not imagine it being much better than Locust Reign though. That needs to come back soon.

Just like anything it's different strokes. I think Heady is pretty good but nothing to go insane about. I think Gandhi is better but yet again not worth chasing trucks for but nowadays I have no interest in that kind of thing anyway.
