I absolutely do. In fact, I'm a little bit overly nitpicky about it. If I'm having a beer I've reviewed before and pick up something I didn't notice the first time around, I will write it down and adjust the score accordingly. The more I drink of a particular beer, the more I know of its nuances and subtleties. I definitely don't see any problem with making your reviews more accurate.

If it’s a dramatic difference, I make a change. I also note the change in the review.

Yes, I always change my reviews according to my current taste buds. Most of the time, I don't need to change anything.

I like to update my reviews sometimes when I go back to a beer at a later date. And sometimes I notice that I like a beer better the second time around. Could be a question of what I am doing at the time, or where I am. There are lots of variables.

I do. I've had off beers or mis cellared beers. First review was low and corrected one I had it again.

As a general rule I will reassess something if I like it better than when I had it previously, but will not lower its score if I didn't enjoy it as much. No way of knowing was the better experience fresher, was I in a better mood, variance in batches, more refined palette, etc. so I refuse to dock a beer because perhaps I'm in less of a good mood or I had a pour that was less fresh, neither of those reflect upon the product the brewer put out. On the other hand, it's not uncommon to have a less-than-fresh beer, and have it again fresher and be blown away, which in my opinion does reflect upon the product the brewer put out.

I find my reviews are well thought out, but with so much out there, how reliable is your palate? I know I revisit mine for the betterment (hopefully) of the rating system? You? How seriously do you take your rating? Really?

I knew I saw a thread on this when the new one popped up yesterday.

I do generally revisit my ratings, especially if I'm having something that I haven't taken notes on in over a year. We all know how our palates change and evolve and I like to keep my ratings up to date with my current tasting preferences, as best I can.

It's also nice to get everything sorted into the newer rating style versus a single score (though I did like being able to award beers with more/less than a quarter point at a time).

Do you ever go back to your reviews or ratings and modify them based on a later experience with the beer (or bar or brewery)? Why and how often.

i will re review if i had a very strong opinion on the beer, either positive or negative, and then try it again much later. But there need to be a pretty big time gap.

Every once and a while I'll re-evaluate my opinion and properly adjust my review/rating on brews I haven't had for a year(s). I've also become much more critical and less bias in my reviews than I was when I first joined BA, so I feel like adjusting my ratings for some of the first ratings and reviews I did is a good thing, considering I used to toss around 5's without much consideration.

Yes I always do this. Now I revisit them. Changing them doesn't happen as often

If I get a second chance at a beer I will definitely re-evaluate it. Especially if the difference is huge, positive or negative.

You know, ones you had several months or years back and decide "hey, that wasn't so bad", or "hey I can't believe I thought this was good at one time"?

I find myself doing this once in awhile because I find so much beer on sale that it really doesn't matter if it is not top-class, if I hate it I can give it away. Sometimes I find diamonds in the rough that make me feel like "wow, I sure had a stick up my ass last time I reviewed this beer".

I haven't re-reviewed yet but I have thought about it. Probably will do it soon. I had a beer recently that I rated pretty well bit this time it tasted like a different beer.

only b/c some of these breweries changes the original recipe, or b/c I was too intoxicated the first time to accurately rate and assess/rate the beer even though I did so anyways

I go back to some old brews on my page..
I like seeing if the brews have a different taste from bottles to cans or on tap.

Yes, I do re-review beers. There were some beers that I felt deserved a second chance because they were in my first 100 beers reviewed. I revisit and tweak - I would say some get tweaked down, or they stay the same. Rarely do I find myself increasing on the re-review - but it does happen (today with Wachusette Milk Stout - score increased). Think it only fair since I may not have worked out the kinks in the early ratings. I wish more seasonal beers had year of release in the equation - sometimes beers can change dramatically one way one year, and normalize the following year. Sam summer does that.
