Saw it was 19 bucks from bine and vine. Wish it was 4 packs and at old price point sadly

At that price, I'd just buy more Parabola.

It was $18 at the brewery. Limit 6 per. Also the info card they had at the brewery said the final blend ended up being 55% barrel aged, 45% fresh DS.

I'm hearing everything from good to terrible for this new batch.

Damn near 50/50 ratio blend for a $18-20 bottle? That used to be $20 for double the amount in a 4pk last 2 releases? This just keeps better and better. I know it was blended before, but still...........

So you bottled batch 2 of Silva before GABF submissions in August 2012 and deemed it good enough to submit to GABF instead of batch 1 (already unlikely) but decided to sit on the bottles for 5 months before releasing them to consumers? That's pretty odd. Almost as odd as Chuck holding a bottle of batch 1 Silva in the picture at GABF 2012.

Vendome Beverly Hills has them at $16.99 (cheaper than brewery) and NO LIMIT!!

It's not even worth 16.99. Seriously, it's bad.

Was it cool to hate on GF before they bought Alpine? I'm not saying anyone necessarily changed their attitude consciously because of that, but it seems like it happened somewhat suddenly. They are far from my favorite brewery but I think they make good beer, brew a pretty wide variety of styles, and I enjoy going to their tasting room. To each their own.

Yes. Pretty much they've been under target since they moved to the larger brewery in Mira Mesa, and a lot of people don't like the way West Coast IPA changed over time. Also, a lot of people were greatly disappointed in the 2013 Silva Stout, and didn't like the Tennessee Two Step they did with distributing it.

Mostly, though, I think it is a reaction to them becoming a lot bigger.

Also for the way Silva Stout 2013 was handled--the way you had to purchase tickets to a food pairing dinner in order to get access to bottles.

I get that. I guess it's easier for me since I've only known about them since they have been in their current location. It's easier to love a smaller brewery, for a number of reasons.

That's what I meant about "two step". After having stated that, they then turned around and put the bottles in distribution after all.

Anyone know if they still have bottles for sale at the brewery or still have it on tap? Driving down to SD tomorrow for my Alesmith beers and trying to plot out the day.

Uncertain of bottles at the brewery, but if you really want them they are all over the county so you shouldn't have an issue finding some.

Edit: In fact you will be by at least 1 BevMo and Plaza while at Alesmith and obviously even closer (like down a block and across the street) if you stop at GF.

Saw some bottles of c3 silva stout at my beer store for 11.99$ must be a mistake but I still didn't buy it.
Haven't bought green flash since they moved from Vista. Their old version of west coast ipa made me the hophead I am today.

I actually had it over the weekend...... It was pretty tasty.. Once it warmed up... It was pretty solid for getting it for 16.99.. Definitely gonna buy another bottle just to see how it ages.
