Honest question to those saying a bomber is the perfect size to share or is just the right serving size - Does the extra 2 oz in opening two 12 oz bottles make buying the bomber worth the typical increase in price per oz?

I love my bombers, especially those with sweet artwork. I never ever consider price per ounce when purchasing beer.

Bombers definitely have a niche to fill. I wish more would offer a combination of 12oz + 22oz.

So you would buy a bomber for $8.99 instead of two 12 oz bottles of the same beer for $6.00? I'm talking about the same beer, not some theoretical comparison of value.

I only dislike them when a beer previously available in 4 or 6 packs has been switched to them with no price reductions. Like Cigar City Puppys Breath.

Personally I'd like it if everything was available in 7 oz nip bottles.

If its a bottle that I like yes. I feel that if the $3 extra is going to hurt me that much I probably shouldn't be spending it on beer in the first place.

As long as they're made out of aluminum or steel.

If that's the only format it comes in, I will buy it.

I actually like bombers. It's really great for when you have two people that want to drink the same beer. It makes it so much cheaper.

I never buy them. Believe it or not, there are some folks that just don't want (or can't have) that much alcohol in one serving.

And for those who say, "well, just share it"... Yeah, um, not everyone has family or friends that like good beer.

And for those who say "just put a stopper in it and drink the rest the next day"... I've done this many times and the beer never tastes the same or as good as the previous day.

I actually wish high ABV brews came in 7 or 8 oz bottles. Seven ounces of something like BCBS would be a perfect amount.

I like bombers, I share them with my wife a lot of the time. They are a bit pricey though. For comparison. a Bomber of Stone Enjoy By 4.20 is $9.25 at my bottle store. A 6pk of EB 4.20 is $17.99. The bomber breakdown is .42/oz whereas the 6pk is .25/oz.

The big bottles 22, 25, or 32 have never made sense. You buy a 4 or 6 pack and it requires more bottles, but the price is always less. So big bottles must be that much more expensive to make? I understand the theory the more you buy the cheaper it gets, but isn't 6 bottles much more costly than one big one? I guess not.

I like to grab a bomber of Stone Smoked porter or SNPA whenever I hit the beer store. Both are reasonably priced, not too high ABV, and I know I love both beers. For beers like that, I think bombers are awesome. And a fancy bomber now and again can be be good for gifts and special occasions. So, sometimes I like them. Most of the time, though, I think they are expensive and stupid.

There is just SOMETHING about waiting for NBS on Sundays and opening a bomber to review. It's a great feeling. This week? FW 18.

I used to not like them as much but like in my vote, if it's the only way to get the beer i like, it's going in my cart!

I agree with @JMS1512 - great format for NBS - get enough beer from the same bottle to do a worthy review. Here in PA our options are mostly limited: buying a bomber is cheaper than buying a case/12 pack and frequently cheaper than a 6 pack. Those of us living in the backwoods rarely have access to "bottle shops" and frequently have to either buy a case at the local distributor or buy a bomber on line (+ shipping costs). I'd prefer 500 mL bottles but bombers will do nicely, a decent single serving.

If it comes in both a 6 pack and a Bomber I will usually choose the 6 pack but its depends on total cost. I look less at price per ounce and more at total cost. I like bombers because I think they are perfect to drink alone or split, very versatile in my book. Plus the art work rocks.
