FiftyFifty Brewing - Brewers Intent 2015

anyone willing to proxy for me, I'm a little late on this. (preference goes to someone that lives local so i don't have to ship twice). I will make it worthwhile as I've done bruery for two years (no longer doing it) and I'm in the degarde and wakefield societies.

 

First shipment arrived yesterday. Anxious to try the Cherry Annularity. The 2 ltr growler is kinda cool but what the heck can we do with it if not near 5050? Flower vase?

 

Any reports on Cherry Annularity? Any pics of the growler?

I've got a trustee who will be picking up for me soon, but am totally impatient for the details.

How does this work? Is it a annual membership or you can sign up for it quarterly like Bruery Preservation Society?

Had the Old Conundrum in pappy barrels yesterday at The Bruery anniversary party... definitely enjoy that, hopefully we can get some of that.

 

Really stoked for our June allocations and for making a day trip next week.

 

Will be interesting to try Cognac Eclipse and Cognac Masterpiece side by side.

 

Now I could be wrong here but it looks like masterpiece will be a 'base' beer much like eclipse? Looks like 12.5% imp stout on the label. So we will see in the future (bourbon, cognac, rum, etc) barrel aged masterpiece?

Or is masterpiece the 1 time pappy barrel they did. And this would be further aged in cognac barrel?

 

At the fwibf it said Pappy Masterpiece, not just Masterpiece. I think it's safe to assume that's how they are referring to the base beer, they are calling it a Double Imperial Stout as well. So hopefully we'll see this line coexist with standard Eclipse

 

Masterpiece, from my understanding, is a different base beer that is more boozy and higher gravity.

 

Eclipse is not a base beer. Totality is the base beer for Eclipse. You put Totality into barrels and Eclipse comes out. Masterpiece Eclipse is based on a double imperial stout, but not considered a base beer itself.

 

yes, masterpiece was not made with totality, they brewed a double imperial stout for that

 

Yes I should have been more specific. I know it's not a 'base' beer. My question is whether or not 'masterpiece' is a new line of beers much like 'eclipse' is a line of BA stouts. Or was that a one time beer called masterpiece. But I'm pretty positive I've figured it out now. And I couldn't be more pleased : )

 

So, are we confirmed that Cognac is simple the second brew in a new line of delicious? Semantics aside, I hope they bottle the base double stout used to make Masterpiece, too!
