I'm visiting Amsterdam for two nights and Brussels for three nights in May (coming from Seattle but working in Dublin for a week prior). This forum has been a great help so far. It sounds like my timing might be off for Cantillon bottles (too late for LP Gueuze, too early for LP Framboise?)--are LP or other non-standard bottles for sale around town, as well?

So looking at Untappd, it looks like they still Fou available? On-site only?

This should definitely be a sticky thread!

Fou will not be for take-away until this September. It's a once-in-a-year realease.

Elmanana, could you share the year timetable of all Cantillon releases? Or does it always vary? F.ex the Vig would have been released last month but still is too slimey..
    January : Fou
    February : Lamvinus
March : Iris & St Gill...
    ...

It varies from year to year, release to release. Hard to tell.... Lamvinus and Vigneronne were bottled in the same week: one is almost sold out, the other one isn't even for sale yet... Hard to tell!!

Will be a tough call, release is postponed 2-3 months... Saccharomyces viscosus still at work..

"During its first hot season, lambic gets an infection of "saccharomyces viscosus", making the lambic slimey, undrinkable thanks to the mouthfeel. Once this is gone, the lambic is ready for consumption. But, as in every brewery the indigenous microflora is slightly different, as well as every year, temperatures are different, the notion "old", and "young" might differ, and be on a sliding scale. Does anyone have any idea what specific batch that is? I just tried one bottled 10/29 today, and it was not good. I'd describe it as more syrupy than slimy, and totally flat, with weird flavors I don't remember in that beer. Is that the batch that isn't ready? It would make sense.

The batch that isn't ready hasn't been released yet so it can't be the same you have

I was told a batch was sent to distributors, but they were instructed not to release it yet. I'm wondering whether this is the same batch.
