Guess what. Even among hop-bomb DIPAs, it comes down to a matter of personal tastes. I prefer Focal Banger over Heady, Epiphany over anything by Bissell Bros and Swish over Substance among the Bb's, Vicinity over any other IPA from Trillium, Double Sunshine over most of the above, and Hill Farmstead Double Citra over all of them. Look forward to trying CD but from the reviews, don't expect it alter my IPA worldview.

Yeah this was fun... but... no.

CD could be a great beer. But... some(most?)times its not (as has been mentioned). I've never had an inconsistent MBC Dinner or Lunch (and I hate them for their prices). SoS beats CD, and you won't find me chasing the trucks here. I dont get the GBot hate, as it is my favorite. I like HT probably a tiny bit better, but the personal ease of getting a growler fill beats the hype all day. Double sunshine is severely overrated. So is the duck. I should rephrase that, as those beers are great and I would never turn one down. DS and FBD have hype that overshadows thier value. BBB is great, foundation is great, second fiddle is killer, duh Hill Farmstead, Trillium is severely solid... new england is rocking it.

In summation: We all have preferences. yay! If you prefer to wade through cans of butterscotch to get the one magic batch of CD, have at it.

I'm grumpy this morning... sorry if I offend you.

P.S. Other Half... not new england. but All Green Everything was AMAZING. hands down hoppy winner at EBF for me, and I cant wait to get more.

IMO Heady is top DIPA for sure. But for me I can't rate it #1. My two reasons limited availability and no can dating. A #1 beer to me is available statewide, in decent quantities, and dated so I know when it was put into its container. Once again just my thoughts.

You can't have a talk about New England DIPA's without mentioning Beer'd Brewing. They have so many fantastic DIPA's that rank right up there with Alchemist, Bissell, Lawsons, Nebco, Fiddlehead, Treehouse etc. Unfortunately they do not can yet but if you can get down there go a weekend when they have Dogs & Boats, Hobbit Juice, or Grove Stand. You really can't go wrong with any of their beers however. They are in the process of expanding and now serve pints as well as wine from a local vineyard on tap in case you have someone in your group who's not a beer drinker. As a bonus Grey Sail is 15 minutes down the road in Westerly.

Wow. GB is a much better beer IMO.

CD doesn't stand a chance with all the hops from Mass, Maine and Vermont. I had Mayflower Alden last night and that was a much better beer. I would compare it to Wachusett Larry.

Yep, Mayflower Alden is an excellent DIPA. Cape Ann Dead Eye was similar (both more smooth and not the hazy dank) and excellent.

Hope to see more of both of them real soon.
