Malted Milk Ball Porter was the brainchild of Nate Walser, the ex-Founders head brewer who developed KBS alongside Jeremy Kosmicki, Founders' current head brewer. Technically, Sam Sherwood was head brewer when MMB was released in September 2013, but MMB was in barrels for nine months, which pre-dates when Sam took over in May of 2013. Walser also developed Grapefruit IPA.

Also, yes, Walser is opening up a new brewery that he's running on Alpine Ave in GR, which was just approved for construction a few weeks ago. I'm pretty excited for it, I hear that the reason why he bounced from place to place is because he and management would butt heads, but now that he is management and has creative control, I'm expecting great things.

Depends on the reasons for the outcry that happens when BMC buys craft breweries. If people get mad just because they want brewery X to "stay small" because it feeds their ego, as they have access to, or personal relationships with, brewery X that others don't, then I believe they will be frustrated all the same when a craft brewer buys another craft brewer. If people get frustrated with BMC buyouts because they don't like to see BMC getting a slice of the craft dollar, as they have seen evidence that BMC will use said dollar to limit the success of other craft breweries that they really like, then you may not see as much outcry when a craft brewery buys another craft brewery.

Personally, I will continue to buy Oskar Blues until the day I see evidence that they are doing things that are harming the craft beer scene as opposed to promoting it. I haven't seen that from them thus far, while I have seen that from ABinbev.

I really don't know much about Perrin Brewing Company, but if they were going to sell out, I think it would be a lot better to sell to a quality brewer like Oskar Blues to keep the same or better quality than sell out to ABInBev or Miller - Coors where they bring quality brewers to shit.
